Swedish Television
Sveriges Television AB ("Sweden's Television aktiebolag, Stock Company"), shortened to SVT (), is the Sweden, Swedish national public broadcasting, public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag (national parliament). Prior to 2019, SVT was funded by a Television licensing in Sweden, television licence fee payable by all owners of television sets. The Swedish public broadcasting system is largely modelled after the system used in the United Kingdom, and Sveriges Television shares many traits with its British counterpart, the BBC. SVT is a public limited company that can be described as a "quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisation." John Lennon
John Winston Ono Lennon (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 19408 December 1980) was an English singer-songwriter, musician and activist. He gained global fame as the founder, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles. Lennon's Lennon–McCartney, songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney remains the most successful in history. Born in Liverpool, Lennon became involved in the Skiffle revival, skiffle craze as a teenager. In 1956, he formed the Quarrymen, which evolved into the Beatles in 1960. ''Prisoner'' (known in the UK and the US as ''Prisoner: Cell Block H'' and in Canada as ''Caged Women'') is an Australian television soap opera, which was broadcast on Network Ten (formerly the 0-10 Network) from February 27 (Melbourne) and February 26 (Sydney) 1979 to December 1986 (Melbourne), running eight series and 692 episodes. ''Prisoner'' was the first Australian series to feature a primarily female-dominated cast and carried the slogan "If you think prison is hell for a man, imagine what it would be like for a woman!" The series, produced by the Grundy Organisation, was conceived by Reg Watson and filmed at the then-Network Ten Melbourne Studios at Nunawading and on location. TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Sweden, Swedish free-to-air Television in Sweden, television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media, TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. From 2004 to 2019, the TV4 Group was a fully active member of the European Broadcasting Union. ''Sikta mot stjärnorna'' (in English: ''Aiming for the stars'') is a Swedish singing talent show that was broadcast on TV4 between 1994 until 2002. The show featured people acting and imitating their favorite singers/bands performances. From the 1996 season and forward the show worked as the Swedish pre-selection for the European final called European Soundmix Show. Lasse Holm
Lars-Eric Gustav "Lasse" Holm (born 9 December 1943) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and television host. Holm has also hosted and appeared in several television shows. As singer Since childhood, he was interested in music and was a member of a lot of pop music and rock music groups in the 1960s: ''Doug and the Millsmen'', ''The Spacemen'' and ''The Moonlighters''. Holm and singer Monica Törnell represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 with the song "E' de' det här du kallar kärlek". As songwriter Holm is best known as a schlager composer. During the 1980s, he was a songwriter for Chips and country band Mats Rådberg & Rankarna. ''Emmerdale'' (known as ''Emmerdale Farm'' until 1989) is a British television soap opera that is broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV. The show is set in Emmerdale (known as Beckindale until 1994), a List of fictional towns and villages, fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. SVT2
SVT2 (SVT Två; commonly referred to as Tvåan), is one of the two main television channels broadcast by Sveriges Television in Sweden. Launched in 1969 by Sveriges Radio, the channel was until the 1990s the most watched in Sweden but now serves as SVT's specialist television network, carrying more highbrow and minority programming compared to the more mainstream SVT1. Bert (TV Series)
''Bert'' is a Swedish television series with 12 episodes, based on the '' Bert Diaries'' by Anders Jacobsson and Sören Olsson, and originally airing over SVT each Saturday evening during the period of 1 October-17 December 1994. It was directed by Tomas Alfredson and Svante Kettner. The theme song was performed by Lill-Babs, and called " Älskade ängel". Another song regaining revival with the TV series was Sven-Olof Sandberg's 1938 success " Är det så här när man är kär". The plot is based on the Bert Diaries, but just like in the comics, the story opens in the 6th grade, not the 5th like in the books. Viasat Nature is a television channel owned by international media company, Viasat World LTD. The channel has a focus on animals and their owners, blue-chip, classic wildlife, ER and animal rescue, the natural world, and parks and sanctuaries. Viasat Nature is a 24-hour channel, broadcasting in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Scandinavia and Commonwealth of Independent States.
