1993–94 WOAA Senior League Season
The 1993–94 WOAA Senior League season was the 4th season of the WOAA Senior AA Hockey League. The league played a regular season schedule which began in October 1993 and concluded in January 1994. The post-season began in February 1994 and concluded in April 1994. The Durham Thundercats won the WOAA Grand Championship, defeating the Ripley Wolves in the final round. WOAA Senior AA Hockey League
The Ontario Elite Hockey League is a Canadian senior ice hockey league governed by the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The league operates in Southwestern Ontario. As of the 2024–25 season, the champion of the OEHL will be eligible to challenge the champion of Allan Cup Hockey for a spot in the Canadian national Senior AAA championship and a chance to win the Allan Cup. Formerly known as the WOAA Senior AA Hockey League, and governed by the autonomous Western Ontario Athletic Association, in the summer of 2023 ten of the twelve existing teams voted to leave the WOAA and reform under the umbrella of the Ontario Hockey Association. Palmerston, Ontario
Palmerston (local historical pronunciation: IPA pʰæ̃.mɝ.s͡tən is an unincorporated community with a population of 2,599 on the southern edge of Minto in the northwestern part of Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. History Palmerston was a key division point for the Grand Trunk and later the Canadian National Railway in Southwestern Ontario with 65 subdivisions; Owen Sound, Kincardine, Durham, Fergus, Guelph Junction and Stratford. In its original concept the railroad was to run from Guelph to Southampton, Ontario and would not have gone through Palmerston. Listowel needed to be linked to the railroad and it was decided to bend the route toward Listowel. It was also decided that a yard with maintenance shops would be needed. Lucknow Lancers
The Lucknow Lancers are a senior hockey team based out of Lucknow, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Ontario Elite Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. Championships In 1996–97, Lucknow captured the Senior "B" championship, and in 1988-89, they were Intermediate "D" champs. 2006–07 Lancers season Lucknow, coming off an 18-6-1 record in 2005-06, had the best record in the regular season in 2006-07, going 20-2-2. The Lancers finished the season on a 12-0-1 streak, and they scored a season high fifteen goals in a 15-6 win over the Drayton Icemen on October 22. In the opening round of the "AA" playoffs against the Hensall Sherwoods, the teams would split the first two games of the series before Lucknow would win three in a row to eliminate the Sherwoods, including a convincing 6-1 win in the fifth game. Dundalk ( ; ) is the county town of County Louth, Ireland. Mildmay Monarchs
The Mildmay Monarchs were a senior hockey team based out of Mildmay, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior Hockey League. Championships The Monarchs, who played in the WOAA from 2003–2007, never won a WOAA Championship, and no previous Mildmay team has ever been WOAA champions either. Mildmay's teams has won at least 15 Ontario Hockey Association and Ontario Minor Hockey Association championships since 1955. The First Monarchs were formed in 1946, and over the years there have been many different versions of the Mildmay Monarchs. 2006–07 Monarchs season Mildmay finished in 7th place in the North Division with a 6-16-2 record. The Tiverton Thunder were a senior hockey team based out of Tiverton, Ontario, Canada. They played in the WOAA Senior Hockey League. The club began to operate in the 1991-92 season and would fold following the 1994-95 season. Illegal player In the 1993-94 season, the Thunder finished the regular season with a 9-9-2 record. Southampton, Ontario
Southampton is a community on the shores of Lake Huron in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. It is close to Port Elgin and is located at the mouth of the Saugeen River in the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory. The size of the town is 6.44 square kilometres. The permanent population in 2016 was 3,678, but the summer population is higher since cottagers and campers spend vacation time in the area. Although the community still has its own post office, and road signs indicating the name Southampton, it is no longer an entity in its own right. Wiarton () is a community in the town of South Bruce Peninsula, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the western end of Colpoys Bay, an inlet off Georgian Bay, on the Bruce Peninsula. Wiarton is notable for the Wiarton Willie Festival, in February each year (starting in 1956), when national and international media cover Wiarton Willie and his Groundhog Day prediction. Drayton is a community in Wellington County, Ontario, Canada. It is a part of the township of Mapleton. The village is on the corner of Wellington Road 8 and Wellington Road 11, geographically northwest of Fergus and southwest of Arthur.
