The 1968 Swedish speedway season was the 1968 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1968 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 13 September in Stockholm. Leif Enecrona won the Swedish Championship. Junior Championship Winner - Hans Johansson Team Team Championship Kaparna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. The Kaparna team included Ove Fundin and Göte Nordin. Lejonen won the second division and Dackarna and Filbyterna won the third division east and west respectively. The 1967 Swedish speedway season was the 1967 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1967 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 10 October in Gothenburg. Ove Fundin won the Swedish Championship for the seventh time. Junior Championship Winner - Christer Löfqvist Team Team Championship For the fifth consecutive season Getingarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. Despite Arne Carlsson retiring and losing Leif Larsson for the season the Getingarna team recruited well by gaining Anders Michanek and Leif Enecrona to support Göte Nordin and Bengt Jansson. Four divisions returned for the 1967 season with the addition of Dackarna (returning after missing 1966) and three other clubs; Bysarna, Vikingarna and Solkatterna. Vargarna are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Norrköping, Sweden. The team race at the Norrköpings Motorstadion. History The name Vargarna literally translates into English as "The Wolves". The team won the Swedish Speedway Team Championship five times 1949, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1960 and 1961. Elit Vetlanda Speedway
Vetlanda Speedway were a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Earlier known as Njudungarna and VMS Elit, the club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. In 2003 when the club was promoted to the top division of Swedish speedway league, the Elitserien, they changed the name of club to VMS Elit. The current name Vetlanda Speedway was adopted in 2018. Dackarna
Dackarna is a speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track is at the Skrotfrag Arena which has been used as the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia since 2005. History The team was founded in May 1935 as Målilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. Dackarna raced in the highest level of league racing in Sweden between 1951 and 1965, winning the league championship in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1962, and finished as runners-up in 1956 and 1964. Dackarna switched between the first and second league for the next 30 years until 1997 when the team received the backing of a major new sponsor (Svelux) and were renamed Team Svelux. Svelux were taken over by Luxo in 2002 and the team name was changed to Luxo Stars. In 2006 the sponsorship deal expired and the team name reverted to Dackarna. Lejonen
Lejonen (the Lions) is a motorcycle speedway club from Gislaved in Sweden, who compete in the Elitserien. Their home track is at the OnePartnerGroup Arena which is Sweden's oldest track still in use. The club are two times champions of Sweden. History In December 1929 Gislaved Motorclub was formed and by 1931 the track was built. The track was originally wide and long but in 1936 it was widened to and during the 1980s the inside edge of the track was moved and the length was reduced to . In 1963 the Lejonen team began racing in Division Three and became the champions in 1965. Lejonen finished at the top of Division Two (the Allsvenskan) in 2007 and defeated Valsarna in the play-off final to gain promotion to the Elitserien for 2008. Göte Nordin (born 2 July 1935) is a former speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Nordin is a two times champion of Sweden, winning the Swedish Championship in 1965 and 1971. He reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on four occasions (1961, 1962, 1963 and 1966) finishing third in the 1961 Individual Speedway World Championship. He helped Sweden win the World Team Cup in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967. He won the Swedish League title on eight occasions with three clubs. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway from 1966 until 1972, riding for various clubs. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of speedway in Sweden. Season by season History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien being introduced. previously the highest league had been known as the Allsvenskan but since 1982 it has been the second tier of Swedish speedway. Between 1986 and 1999 the team that finished top of the league were declared champions because there was no play off.
