Albert Rösti
Albert Rösti (; born 7 August 1967) is a Swiss businessman, lobbyist and politician who has been a List of members of the Swiss Federal Council, Member of the Swiss Federal Council since 1 January 2023. He previously presided over the Swiss People's Party (SVP/UDC) from 2016 to 2020 and served as a member of the National Council (Switzerland), National Council for the canton of Bern from 2011 Swiss federal election, 2011 until 2022. Rösti resides in Uetendorf near Thun. Early life and education Rösti was born 7 August 1967 in Kandersteg, in the canton of Bern, into a Protestantism, Protestant mountain farmer family. He studied agronomy at ETH Zurich. He graduated in 2002 to study at the University of Rochester as a Master of Business Administration. Johannes Itten
Johannes Itten (11 November 1888 – 25 March 1967) was a Swiss expressionist painter, designer, teacher, writer and theorist associated with the Bauhaus (''Staatliches Bauhaus'') school. Together with German-American painter Lyonel Feininger and German sculptor Gerhard Marcks, under the direction of German architect Walter Gropius, Itten was part of the core of the Weimar Bauhaus. Life and work He was born in Südern-Linden, Switzerland. From 1904 to 1908 he trained as an elementary school teacher. Beginning in 1908 he taught using methods developed by the creator of the kindergarten concept, Friedrich Fröbel, and was exposed to the ideas of psychoanalysis. In 1909 he enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva but was unimpressed with the educators there, and returned to Bern. Louis Blondel
Louis Blondel (24 November 1885, in Geneva – 17 January 1967) was a Swiss archaeologist, the first director of the cantonal archaeological service in Geneva, as well as one of the founders of Scouting in Switzerland. He served as Federal Scout Leader in 1934. Blondel also participated in local politics as administrative adviser of his town, Lancy, for 28 years. He was a member of the Liberal Party (right). Brigitte McMahon
Brigitte McMahon-Huber (born 25 March 1967 in Baar) is an athlete from Switzerland, who competed in triathlon. McMahon competed at the first Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She won the gold medal with a total time of 2:00:40.52, which until 2008 was the fastest time for a female in an Olympic triathlon. Her split times were 19:44.58 for the swim, 1:05:42.30 for the cycling and 0:35:13.64 for the run. McMahon-Huber competed at the second Olympic triathlon at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing tenth with a total time of 2:07:07.73. McMahon tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) during an out of competition control in June 2005. She maintains that she did not take any doping until well after the 2004 Athens Olympics where she came 10th and that she did it for therapeutic reasons only. Swiss Federal Council
The Federal Council is the federal cabinet of the Swiss Confederation. Its seven members also serve as the collective head of state and government of Switzerland. Since World War II, the Federal Council is by convention a permanent grand coalition government composed of representatives of the country's major parties and language regions. While the entire Federal Council is responsible for leading the federal administration of Switzerland, each Councillor heads one of the seven federal executive departments. The president of the Swiss Confederation chairs the council, but exercises no particular authority; rather, the position is one of a first among equals and rotates among the seven Councillors annually.
