Sarfaraz Ahmed Rafiqui (18 July 1935 – 6 September 1965) was a Pakistani fighter pilot. He is best known for his gallant actions in two of the aerial dogfights during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and is a recipient of both the Hilal-e-Jurat (Crescent of Courage) and the Sitara-e-Jurat (Star of Courage) military awards from the Government of Pakistan. He is considered as one of the most decorated officers of the Pakistan Air Force as he had the honour to be awarded with the second and third highest gallantry award. He was buried at Lahore, Pakistan. Early life Sarfraz Ahmed Rafiqui was born in Rajshahi, British India (present-day Bangladesh) on 18 July 1935. He had three brothers and a sister. Hasan Shahid Suhrawardy (; 24 October 1890 – 3 March 1965), also known as Shahid Suhrawardy was a Bengali diplomat, translator, poet and art critic. Family and education Shahid Suhrawardy's father, Sir Zahid Suhrawardy, was a Justice of the Calcutta High Court and his younger brother Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy was a politician and 5th Prime Minister of Pakistan. Shaista Suhrawardy Ikramullah, his first cousin, was an intellectual and diplomat. Shahid Suhrawardy obtained a BA (Hons) degree in English from the University of Calcutta in 1909, as a student of the Scottish Churches College. In 1913, he graduated from Oxford University in Law. Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah
Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (27 December 1873 – 9 February 1965) was an educator, litterateur, Islamic theologist and social reformer of pre-partition India. He was instrumental in the formation of the University of Dhaka and is the namesake of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. Career Ahsanullah completed his MA in philosophy from Presidency College, Kolkata in 1895, and went on to serve as first Muslim headmaster of Rajshahi Collegiate School. In 1911 he was awarded fellowship in The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) which has worldwide member of 30,000 (). In the same year British Indian Government also awarded him the title "Khan Bahadur". He became the first person amongst the Hindus and Muslims of Undivided Bengal to join the Indian Education Service.
