1930 Peruvian Primera División
The 1930 Primera División was the 15th season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 12 teams competed in this league, with Atlético Chalaco winning its first league title. Changes from 1929 Structural changes The number of teams was reduced from 13 to 12. The 12 teams were divided into 3 groups of 4 and the winner of each group advanced to the championship group. The last-placed team of each group would play in a relegation group with the last-placed team being relegated. Promotion and relegation Jorge Chávez and Alianza Chorrillos placed 11th and 12th place respectively in the 1929 season and were relegated. Lawn Tennis was promoted in their place. The Peru First Division (; ''First Division'') —known as Liga 1 Betsson for sponsorship reasons and officially as Liga 1 — is the top flight of association football in Peru. It has been referred to as Torneo Descentralizado since 1966, when the first teams residing outside the Lima Province, Lima and Callao provinces were invited to compete in the 1912 Liga Peruana de Football, inaugural league national competition. The main sponsor is the Spanish telecommunications brand Movistar. There are 20 teams in the division of a league that operates on a system of promotion and relegation determined at the end of the season with the Segunda División Peruana, Segunda División and the Copa Perú. Peruvian División Intermedia (1926–1940)
The División Intermedia, the second division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1926 until 1934, and the third division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1935 until 1940. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. On August 23, 1922, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) was founded and since 1926 tournaments began to be played under its organization.
