Ciclista Lima
Ciclista Lima Association is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Lima. It is the second-oldest club in Peru. The club was founded 1896 and plays in the Copa Perú, which is the third division of the Peruvian league. History The club was the 1944, 1946, 1949, and 1993 Segunda División Peruana champion. The club played at the highest level of Peruvian football on several occasions since 1927. However, they only played Torneo Descentralizado on three occasions, from 1994 Torneo Descentralizado until 1996 Torneo Descentralizado when the club was relegated to the Peruvian Segunda División. In the 1997 Segunda División Peruana, the club was relegated to the Copa Perú. The Peruvian Second Division (; known simply as ''Second Division'', and Liga 2 Caja Cusco for sponsorship reasons), officially known as Liga 2, is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. Founded in 1943, it is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. Peruvian Football League System
The Peruvian football league system is a complex system. Though the general outline includes the Liga 1, Liga 2, Liga 3 and Copa Perú. The Copa Perú is very large involving several stages and leagues within it. In addition, the Copa Perú is played within a year. Copa CONMEBOL
The Copa CONMEBOL () was an annual football cup competition organized by CONMEBOL between 1992 and 1999 for South American football clubs. During its time of existence, it was a very prestigious South American club football contest, similar to the UEFA Cup. Clubs qualified for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. Teams that were not able to qualify for the Copa Libertadores would play in this tournament. The tournament was played as a knockout cup. The tournament ended in 1999, following the expansion of the Copa Libertadores to 32 teams. The Copa Mercosur and Copa Merconorte -which both started in 1998- replaced the Copa CONMEBOL, and the merger of those 3 cups would later transformed in the current Copa Sudamericana. Ligas Provinciales De Lima Y Callao (1926–1975)
The Ligas Provinciales de Lima y Callao, the second division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1935 until 1940. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. This championship remained in force until 1940. Initially the Liga Provincial de Lima played the role of the first division. However, the 1936 season, it became the lower category of the honor division. In that same year, the Liga Provincial de Lima merged with the Liga Provincial del Callao to form the Primera División Unificada de Lima y Callao. For the following years, Liga Provincial de Lima competed together with Liga Provincial del Callao to obtain promotion to the division of honor. Finally, the championship disappeared when the Liga Regional de Lima y Callao was formed in 1941. The 1994 Torneo Descentralizado was the 79th season of the top category of Peruvian football (soccer). A total of 16 teams competed. The national champion was Sporting Cristal, beginning a run of three consecutive titles. The Peruvian football champions are the winners of the highest league in Peruvian football, which is currently named as Peruvian Primera División, Liga 1 and organized by Peruvian Football Federation. The Liga Peruana de Football was established in 1912. It was an amateur league that lasted until 1921 due to scheduling and organizing conflicts. In this league only teams from Lima participated. In 1926, the Peruvian Football Federation took control of organizing the tournament and continued the Peruvian Primera División with the introduction of teams from Callao.
