The 1910 Campeonato Paulista, organized by the LPF (Liga Paulista de Football), was the 9th season of São Paulo's top association football league. AA das Palmeiras won the title for the 2nd time. No teams were relegated. AA das Palmeiras's Eurico, Paulistano's Rubens Salles and São Paulo Athletic's Herbert Boyes were the top scorers, each having scored 10 goals. The Campeonato Paulista Série A1, commonly known as Campeonato Paulista, nicknamed Paulistão, is the top-flight professional state football league in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Run by the São Paulo State Football Federation (FPF), the league is contested by 16 clubs and typically lasts from January to April. Rivalries amongst four of the best-known Brazilian teams ( Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and São Paulo) have marked the history of the competition. Associação Atlética das Palmeiras, A. A. das Palmeiras or simply AA das Palmeiras was a football club based in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded on November 9, 1902, its colors were black and white. It was São Paulo champion of three times: 1909, 1910 and 1915. Their principal uniform had a white shirt with a black horizontal stripe, black shorts, and socks, similar to the traditional Paraguayan Club Olimpia uniform. Rubens Salles (14 October 1891 – 21 July 1934), was a Brazilian association football, footballer and manager, who played as a Midfielder (association football), midfideler. Player career Rubens Salles began his career at CA Paulistano in 1906. He became one of the club's biggest names in the 1910s, alongside Arthur Friedenreich. He won the state championship on six occasions, being one of the top scorers in the 1910 edition. He stood out for his goals from outside the box, in addition to long-distance ball passes. International career Rubens Salles played in four matches for the Brazil national team: the first in history, against Exeter City F.C., Exeter City, Brazil v Exeter City F.C. Club Athletico Paulistano –generally known as just Paulistano– is a sports club, sports and social club from the Brazilian metropolis São Paulo located in the quarter of Jardins, Jardim América, close to the city. The club was founded on 29 December 1900 for the purpose of playing association football. Its team was one of the early pioneers of the sport in Brazil and was considered the nationally leading side around 1920. São Paulo Athletic Club - officially nowadays Clube Atlético São Paulo, but generally referred to as SPAC, is a Brazilian sports club founded on 13 May 1888 by Charles William Miller, Algernon Francis Egert and several English immigrants, being one of the first association football clubs in the South-American country. Clube Atlético Ypiranga, also known as Ypiranga, are a Brazilian social club from São Paulo, Brazil. History The club was founded on June 10, 1906, The team first entered the Paulista championship in 1910, and became a regular participant; even though the team never won any Paulista titles, it managed to be runner-up thrice, and was one of the founding members of the Federação Paulista de Futebol . From 1932 to 1950, Ypiranga played its home matches at the Nami Jafet stadium. In 1953, the club lost its headquarters, triggering a crisis in the club that culminated in the team being relegated the next year.
