127th Territorial Defense Brigade
The 127th Territorial Defense Brigade () is a military formation of the Territorial Defense Forces (Ukraine), Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv. It is part of Operational Command East. History Formation In early March 2022 Colonel Roman Hryshchenko began forming the brigade in Kharkiv. In the first stage almost two thousand servicemen joined the unit. They were assigned to headquarters and two battalions. Russo-Ukrainian War Russian invasion of Ukraine The first assignment of the brigade was to reinforce army and national guard units defending the city. As of July 2022, the brigade was holding the front line north and east of the city of Kharkiv. On 29 August 2022 the brigade received its battle flag. On 11 September 2022, the brigade's 249th Battalion announced that the village of had come under Ukrainian control. Strilecha
Strilecha (; ) is a village in Kharkiv Raion (district) in Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine, located north-northeast ( NNE) from the centre of Kharkiv. The settlement belongs to Lyptsi rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Strilecha is located at a distance of about from the Russia–Ukraine border. History Strilecha was founded in 1695 as a frontier settlement of the expanding Tsardom of Russia. The village was occupied by the Russian military on 24 February 2022, the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian troops first arrived in the village on 13 September 2022, after a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region. The 247th Battalion of Ukraine's 127th Territorial Defense Brigade announced that its forces had recaptured Strilecha on 13 September 2022, raising the Ukrainian flag in the village.
