''11•11•11'' is the first live album by American rock band MGMT, released on 11 November 2022. The album contains original music performed at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan, New York City. It marked the first major release by the band since 2018's ''Little Dark Age''. Background MGMT was commissioned by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum to write an original composition for the retrospective of installation artist Maurizio Cattelan, featuring 130 art pieces suspended in mid air. The new material would be performed at the exhibits private opening on 10 November 2011, and then again at the exhibits public debut the next day. MGMT () is an American rock band formed in 2002 in Middletown, Connecticut. It was founded by singers and multi-instrumentalists Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser, Ben Goldwasser. ''Little Dark Age'' (abbreviated as ''LDA'') is the fourth studio album by the American rock band MGMT, released on February 9, 2018, through Columbia Records. It was the band's first album of new material in over four years, after the release of their eponymous third studio album in September 2013. After the band concluded touring at the end of 2014, members Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser took time off for most of 2015 before regrouping at the end of the year. Exotica is a musical genre that was popular during the 1950s to mid-1960s with Americans who came of age during World War II. The term was coined by Simon "Si" Waronker, Liberty Records co-founder and board chairman, named after the 1957 Martin Denny album ''Exotica''.
