Şahmar Dalmış
Şahmar Dalmış (born in İncesu village, Susuz, Kars) is a Turkish politician from the Republican People's Party (CHP), which he joined in 1996. Career Şahmar Dalmış is an engineer and a graduate from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ). He was a candidate to become a Member of Parliament from Kars as an independent in the 1987 general election and from the Democratic Left Party in the 1991 general election. In the 2011 general election, he applied to become a candidate from the CHP but failed to make the Kars party list. Initially a staunch supporter of party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Dalmış announced his candidacy for the CHP leadership for the 2014 CHP extraordinary convention, but failed to gain any nominations from party delegates. His speech afterwards which heavily criticised the CHP leadership, who he claimed had attempted to silence his bid for the leadership, received record views. 1987 Turkish General Election
General elections were held in Turkey on 29 November 1987. Prior to the elections, the military junta's restrictions on former politicians were lifted, allowing them to re-enter politics. However, only three political parties were approved by the junta to participate in the election. Despite a reduction in its share of the vote, the Motherland Party retained its majority in parliament, gaining 81 seats. Voter turnout was 93.3%. The Democratic Left Party (, DSP) is a Turkish political party, founded on 14 November 1985 by RahÅŸan Ecevit. History 1985–1999 The DSP, a social-democratic oriented party, was registered on 14 November 1985 by RahÅŸan Ecevit, wife of Bülent Ecevit, as he was banned from political life after the 1980 coup d'état. 1991 Turkish General Election
General elections were held in Turkey on 20 October 1991, to elect members to the 19th Grand National Assembly. It was the first by the ruling Motherland Party to be contested without its founding leader, Turgut Özal, who had become Turkish president two years previously. The result was a swing against Özal's former party in favour of its fierce centre-right rival, the True Path Party led by Süleyman Demirel. The vote saw two additional parties cross the 10 percent barrier to enter parliament. 2014 Republican People's Party Extraordinary Convention
The 18th Republican People's Party Extraordinary Convention () took place on 5 and 6 September 2014 in order to elect a leader of the Republican People's Party (''Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi - CHP''), a Turkish centre-left political party. Initially, an ordinary convention was due to be held in 2014, two years after the previous one in 2012. However, the party's incumbent leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu accepted calls for an extraordinary convention to be held following the loss of the CHP's presidential candidate Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu in the presidential election held in August. Muharrem İnce (; born 4 May 1964) is a Turkish physics teacher, school principal, sport executive, and politician. He is the founder and the incumbent leader of the Homeland Party since May 2021.
