Řečkovice
Řečkovice (, Hantec slang, Hantec: ''Řečky/Řečkany'') is a municipal part and cadastral territory in the northern part of the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It has an area of 6.68 km². Originally an independent municipality, it was annexed to Brno in 1919, since November 24, 1990 it has been part of the city district of Brno-Řečkovice a Mokrá Hora, alongside Mokrá Hora. Over 14,000 people live here. History The first written mention of Řečkovice dates from 1277, when Ottokar II of Bohemia donated the courtyard of the St. John's Chapel to Špilberk Castle, Špilberk. The modern development of Řečkovice began only in the 1890s, in which mainly the non-agricultural population participated, such as workers from factories in Brno and Královo Pole. Mokrá Hora
Mokrá Hora is a municipal part and cadastral territory in the north part of Brno, Czech Republic part of the city district of Brno-Řečkovice a Mokrá Hora. Mokrá Hora was originally an independent municipality that was annexed to Brno in 1960. It has an area of , and as such it is the smallest cadastral territory of Brno in terms of area. About 865 people live here. It is located above the Ponávka river, on the edge of the forested area of Soběšická vrchovina. Etymology The toponym Mokrá Hora probably comes from the founder of the village, who probably was Jan Josef Noss von Nossberg. His noble surname von Nossberg, which he acquired even before the establishment of the village, can be translated as "from the Wet Mountain" (the German word nass means "wet", Berg is "mountain"). Brno-Jehnice
Brno-Jehnice is a city district of Brno in the Czech Republic. It is made up of the municipal part and cadastral territory of Jehnice, originally an independent municipality that became a part of Brno in 1971. Soběšice () is a municipal part and cadastral territory on the northern edge of the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It has an area of 6.06 km2.
