Łężczok Nature Reserve
Łężczok nature reserve (known as Łężczak until 2015) is a water nature reserve located in the Silesian Voivodeship, Racibórz County, situated between Racibórz, Nędza, Racibórz County, Nędza, Zawada Książęca, and Babice, Silesian Voivodeship, Babice. It is part of the Rudy Landscape Park. The reserve is home to a rich variety of fauna and flora, including over half of the bird species found in Poland. Two hiking trails and one cycling route pass through the reserve. It has held the status of a nature reserve since 23 January 1957. Initially, the reserve covered an area of 396.21 hectares; however, it has been expanded several times, most recently in 2015, to its current size of 477.38 hectares. The reserve is located within the jurisdiction of the . It is overseen by the Regional Nature Conservation Officer in Katowice. Water Caltrop
The water caltrop is any of three extant species of the genus ''Trapa'': ''Trapa natans'', ''Trapa bicornis'' and the endangered ''Trapa rossica''. It is also known as buffalo nut, bat nut, devil pod, ling nut, mustache nut, singhara nut or water chestnut. The species are floating annual aquatic plants, growing in slow-moving freshwater up to deep, native to warm temperate parts of Eurasia and Africa. They bear ornately shaped fruits, which in the case of ''T. bicornis'' resemble the head of a bull or the silhouette of a flying bat. Each fruit contains a single very large, starchy seed. ''T. natans'' and ''T. bicornis'' have been cultivated in China and the Indian subcontinent for the edible seeds for at least 3,000 years.
