ČT2 (ČT Dva, Česká televize 2, "''Dvojka''") is the Czech Republic, Czech Public broadcasting, public television channel, operated by Czech Television. ČT24 () is a 24-hour news channel in Czechia, owned and operated by Czech Television. The channel was launched on 2 May 2005. ČT art is a Czech national television channel operated by Czech Television specialising in cultural content. The channel began broadcasting on 31 August 2013, with Tomáš Motl being its first executive director. ČT art broadcasts from 8 pm to 6 am, and shares its frequency with children's channel ČT :D which uses the remaining hours. ČT1 (ČT Jedna, Česká televize 1, "''Jednička''") is a Czech public television channel operated by Czech Television. ČT1 is a general-purpose channel, broadcasting family-oriented television, Czech films, news, and documentaries. History On 1 January 1993, F1 changed its name to ČT1 in Czech Republic and STV1 in Slovak Republic. The channel subsequently became the first channel of the new Czech Television, created one year earlier following the Velvet Revolution. ČT Sport (known as ČT4 Sport from 2006 to 2008 and ČT4 from 2008 to 2012) is a Czech national sports channel operated by Czech Television. History ČT Sport was launched as ČT4 Sport on 10 February 2006 to promote digital television. Its main programming includes association football, ice hockey, the Olympic Games, athletics, and various European events. In January 2008, the channel began broadcasting in 16:9 widescreen format.
