ČT1
ČT1 (ČT Jedna, Česká televize 1, "''Jednička''") is a Czech public television channel operated by Czech Television. ČT1 is a general-purpose channel, broadcasting family-oriented television, Czech films, news, and documentaries. History On 1 January 1993, F1 changed its name to ČT1 in Czech Republic and STV1 in Slovak Republic. The channel subsequently became the first channel of the new Czech Television, created one year earlier following the Velvet Revolution. Since September 1997, the station has been broadcasting 24 hours a day. Analogue broadcasting of ČT1 ended on 30 November 2011. The broadcasting of multiplex 1 (DVB-T standard) was announced in November 2019 and ended on 30 September 2020. Until February 2013, ČT1 HD broadcasts could also be received via Multiplex 4 of Digital Broadcasting s.r.o. However, this test broadcast was terminated. Television In The Czech Republic
Television was introduced in Czechoslovakia in 1953. Experimental projects with DVB-T started in 2000. Finally on 21 October 2005, multiplex A (DVB-T) was launched with three channels of Czech Television and one of TV Nova and radio channels of Czech Radio. On 12 April 2006, six digital terrestrial television licenses were awarded to commercial broadcasters. The receivers of the licenses were: Z1, TV Pohoda, Regionální televizni agentura (RTA), Febio TV, TV Barrandov and Óčko. However, because of delays some projects lost investors and will not start (e.g. Fabio, Pohoda) or were cancelled. Z1 provided a news service in from 2008 to January 2011, when it ceased broadcasting. Óčko delivers a music service. TV Barrandov provides general programming services. ČT Sport (known as ČT4 Sport from 2006 to 2008 and ČT4 from 2008 to 2012) is a Czech national sports channel operated by Czech Television. ČT art is a Czech national television channel operated by Czech Television specialising in cultural content. The channel began broadcasting on 31 August 2013, with Tomáš Motl being its first executive director. ČT art broadcasts from 8 pm to 6 am, and shares its frequency with children's channel ČT :D which uses the remaining hours. It provides viewers with access to a wide range of television programmes produced by Czech Television, as well as films and shows licensed to the network.
