Ćunski
Ćunski ( it, Chiusi Lussignano) is a small village in the central part of the island of Lošinj, Croatia. It is sheltered from the bora (adriatic northern wind) and is located on the southern slope of a hill with a view of the western shores of the Kvarner bay. The main road below Ćunski branches off leading to the Lošinj airfield. Also nearby on the western coast is Artatore, which is a popular tourist town. History The present village is no longer the original old settlement which evolved from a fort dating back to Roman times. As the land here was fertile, and the sea was rich with fish, the area was populated as early as the Bronze Age, and during Roman times there were numerous villas (villae rusticae) along the shores. Ruins of one villa is still recognizable in the Studencic bay, together with the remains of a sarcophagus. An old built-up fountain also still exists there. Lošinj
Lošinj (; it, Lussino; vec, Lusin, earlier ''Osero''; german: Lötzing; la, Apsorrus; grc, Ἄψορρος) is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, in the Kvarner Gulf. It is almost due south of the city of Rijeka and part of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The settlements on Lošinj include Nerezine, Sveti Jakov, Ćunski, Artatore, Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj. A regional road runs the length of the island; ferry connections (via the island of Cres) include Brestova - Porozina, Merag - Valbiska, Mali Lošinj - Zadar, Mali Lošinj - Pula. There is also an airport on the island of Lošinj. Geography Lošinj is part of the Cres-Lošinj archipelago. Valter Župan
Bishop Valter Župan (born 10 August 1938) is a Croatian Roman Catholic prelate who served as the Diocesan Bishop of Krk since 31 January 1998 until his retirement on 24 January 2015. Life Bishop Župan was born into a Croatian Roman Catholic family of Guido and Ivka (née Hrončić) in the island of Lošinj, that in this time was governed by an Italians. After graduation and classical gymnasium in the diocesan seminary in Zadar, he was admitted to the Major Seminary in Pazin, and was ordained as priest on July 8, 1962 for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Krk, after completed his philosophical and theological studies. After finished his education, Fr. Župan served as the assistant priest in Mali Lošinj (1962–1970) and continued from 1970 to 1974 as parish priest and dean in Omišalj; from 1974 to 1979 as parish priest and dean in Cres; from 1979 to 1989 parish priest and dean in Mali Lošinj; from 1989 to 1997 as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Krk.
