Össjö (; formerly Åsbo-Össjö) is a small town in the Ängelholm Municipality of Skåne County in Sweden. it has a recorded population of 192 and an area of 26 hectares. It lies at 56° 14´ north, 13° 2´ east. The town is the birthplace of musician Marie Fredriksson of the band Roxette Roxette was a Swedish pop rock duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Gun-Marie Fredriksson (; 30 May 1958 – 9 December 2019) was a Swedish singer, songwriter, pianist and painter, who was best known internationally as the lead vocalist of pop rock duo Roxette, which she formed in 1986 with Per Gessle. The duo achieved international success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their albums '' Look Sharp!'' (1988) and '' Joyride'' (1991), and had multiple hits on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, including four number ones. Fredriksson had a successful career in her native country prior to forming Roxette. She was a member of punk group Strul, a band which created their own music festival in 1979. Ängelholm Municipality
Ängelholm Municipality (''Ängelholms kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in South Sweden in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Ängelholm. In 1971 the ''City of Ängelholm'' was amalgamated with the rural municipalities ''Ausås'', ''Barkåkra'', ''Hjärnarp'' and ''Munka-Ljungby'', thus creating a municipality of unitary type. In 1974 a parish from the dissolved municipality ''Östra Ljungby'' was added. Ängelholm was until recently the home of a major airforce base. The base is now closed down and the premises taken over by the supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg. A notable landmark is the UFO memorial at Ängelholm.
