Éric Dupond-Moretti
Éric Dupond-Moretti (; born 20 April 1961) is a French-Italian lawyer and politician who served as Minister of Justice (France), Minister of Justice from 2020 to 2024 in the successive governments of Prime Ministers Jean Castex, Élisabeth Borne and Gabriel Attal. As a criminal defence lawyer, he is renowned for his number of acquittals which earned him the nickname "Acquitator", some of the controversial figures he defended, as well as his outspoken personality. During his tenure as Justice Minister, he was one of the most prominent members of the government. His appointment came as a surprise to many political commentators. Early life Dupond-Moretti is the only son of Jean-Pierre Dupond, a metal worker from Arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe, Avesnois and Elena Moretti, a housekeeper from Italy. Mohammed Merah
Mohammed Merah (; 10 October 1988 – 22 March 2012) was a French jihadist who admitted to killing seven people, including three children, in several shootings in southwestern France in March 2012. He was killed following a police siege and standoff. Biography Merah was born on 10 October 1988 to French parents of Algerian origin. His parents divorced when he was five. He was raised, along with his two brothers and sisters, by their single mother in a "tough part of Toulouse". As a minor, he was described as having "a violent profile from childhood and behavioural troubles". Merah was described as a polite and loner youth. He was arrested numerous times as a youth, mostly for petty crimes such as purse-snatching. Georges Tron (born 1 August 1957 in Neuilly-sur-Seine) is a French politician. He served as Secretary of Public Affairs in the Cabinet of François Baroin but resigned after accusations of sexual assault were made against him. Patrick Balkany (born 16 August 1948 in Neuilly-sur-Seine) is a French politician. He is a former member of the National Assembly of France.
