After three years of development, the 52 x 26-minute series held its premiere at
MIPJunior in October 2010. Pierre Alain Chartier directed the show, with a crew of 450 people. Alexandre de la Patelliere and Matthieu Delaporte developed the novel for television. In 2012, it was confirmed that the show had been renewed for a new season.
In conjunction with the production, Method Animation and PGS Entertainment launched a global drawing competition to create a new planet to be featured in the episodes.
The season would later premiere in France in 2014.
