Aliette De Bodard
Aliette de Bodard (born November 10, 1982) is a French-American speculative fiction writer. She has received accolades including the British Fantasy Award, BSFA Award, Ignyte Award, Locus Award, and Nebula Award. Writing De Bodard published her first short story in 2006. In 2007, she was a winner of Writers and Illustrators of the Future, Writers of the Future, and in 2009 was a finalist for the Astounding Award for Best New Writer, John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. Léo Quievreux
Léo Quievreux (born 1971) is a French author and illustrator of comic books, and founder of publisher Éditions Gotoproductions. His moniker as a musician is Pik. Early life and education Quievreux was born in Mulhouse in the Alsace region of France, in 1971. He studied applied arts in at École Estienne and École Duperré in Paris, from 1990 to 1993. Career Quievreux was a key artist in the French alternative comic book scene of the 1990s, known as "la nouvelle bande dessinée", and founded and ran his own publication house, Gotoproduction, which he ran along with Jean Kristau and Anne-Fred Maurer from 1991 to 2000 or 2001, and which published over 60 books. ''Immersion'' (Spanish: ''Inmersión'') is a 2021 thriller film directed by Nicolás Postiglione and starring Alfredo Castro. An international co-production between Chile and Mexico, the film is about a family sailing trip that takes an unexpected turn. The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Guadalajara International Film Festival. Plot Ricardo, a middle-class father, and his two daughters are sailing on a remote and beautiful lake in Chile to visit the family's vacation home, which has been neglected for years and is falling apart. While his daughters nap on deck in the mid-day sun, Ricardo sees a group of men on a small boat in apparent distress and calling for help. Takashi Shimizu
Takashi Shimizu (清水 崇 ''Shimizu Takashi'', born 27 July 1972) is a Japanese people, Japanese filmmaker. He is best known for being the creator of the Ju-On, ''Ju-On'' franchise, and directing four of its films, internationally, in both Japan and the U.S. According to film scholar Wheeler Winston Dixon, Shimizu is "one of a new breed of Japanese horror directors" who prefers to "suggest menace and violence rather than directly depict it". Early life Shimizu was born on 27 July 1972, in Maebashi, Tokyo. He attended Wakamiya Elementary School and Maebashi City Fourth Junior High School before graduating from Gunma Prefectural Chuo High School. Immersion journalism or immersionism is a style of journalism similar to gonzo journalism. In the style, journalists immerse themselves in a situation and with the people involved. The final product tends to focus on the experience, not the writer. Overview Like Gonzo, immersionism details an individual's experiences from a deeply personal perspective. An individual will choose a situation and immerse themselves in the events and people involved. Unlike Gonzo, however, it is less focused on the writer's life, and more about the writer's specific experiences. Immersion Lithography
Immersion lithography is a technique used in semiconductor manufacturing to enhance the resolution and accuracy of the lithographic process. It involves using a liquid medium, typically water, between the lens and the wafer during exposure. By using a liquid with a higher refractive index than air, immersion lithography allows for smaller features to be created on the wafer. Immersion lithography replaces the usual air gap between the final lens and the wafer surface with a liquid medium that has a refractive index greater than one.
