Immersion (film)
''Immersion'' (Spanish: ''Inmersión'') is a 2021 thriller film directed by Nicolás Postiglione and starring Alfredo Castro. An international co-production between Chile and Mexico, the film is about a family sailing trip that takes an unexpected turn. The film had its world premiere at the 2021 Guadalajara International Film Festival. Plot Ricardo, a middle-class father, and his two daughters are sailing on a remote and beautiful lake in Chile to visit the family's vacation home, which has been neglected for years and is falling apart. While his daughters nap on deck in the mid-day sun, Ricardo sees a group of men on a small boat in apparent distress and calling for help. Paralyzed by his paranoia, he turns his sailboat in the other direction, but his daughters wake up and call him out for his lack of compassion. Alfredo Castro (actor)
Alfredo Arturo Castro Gómez (born 19 December 1955), best known as Alfredo Castro, is a Chilean actor. With a well established trajectory in theater and television, he became one of the most well-known Latin American film actors of the 2010s. Personal and early life Castro grew up in a family of five brothers; his mother died of cancer when he was 10. He attended elementary and middle school at Saint Gabriel de Las Condes, Kent School in Providencia and Liceo de Hombres No. 11 in Las Condes. Castro entered the Theater Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, where he graduated in acting in 1977. That same year he received the APES Award from the Association of Entertainment Journalists. That same year he debuted in ''Equus'', with good reviews from the specialized press. Guadalajara International Film Festival
The Guadalajara International Film Festival () is a week-long film festival held each March in the Mexican city of Guadalajara since 1986. The presence in Guadalajara of delegates from other important festivals from around the world has helped Mexican cinema to have a strong international presence in the last twenty years.
