World Domination Enterprises
__NOTOC__ World Domination Enterprises was an English post-punk band active in the mid/late 1980s. Fronted by former Here & Now drummer Dobson, the band's dissonant sound mixed elements of punk, noise, dub, hip hop, and rockabilly. They were best known for their cover version of LL Cool Js " I Can't Live Without My Radio", and first single "Asbestos Lead Asbestos". The latter song was later referenced in the 1990 Carter USM single "Rubbish", and covered by Meat Beat Manifesto on their 1996 Subliminal Sandwich album. Their debut album '' Let's Play Domination'' was released in 1988. The band was linked with the Mutoid Waste Company, and played at many of their events, as well as CND benefits. In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original. Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament
The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament by the United Kingdom, international nuclear disarmament and tighter international arms regulation through agreements such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It opposes military action that may result in the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons and the building of nuclear power stations in the UK. Mutoid Waste Company
The Mutoid Waste Company are a performance arts group founded in London, England by Joe Rush and Robin Cooke in collaboration with Alan P Scott and Joshua Bowler. It started in the early 1980s, emerging from Frestonia's 'Car Breaker Gallery'. They are probably best known for their recycled art installations at Glastonbury Festival and refer to themselves as ''the Mutoids''. ''Subliminal Sandwich'' is a 1996 double album released by Meat Beat Manifesto on Interscope Records. The album is more experimental than the group's prior material, composed of lengthier pieces that incorporate more ambient textures and drones and fewer samples or defined song structures. ''Subliminal Sandwich'' was composed during Meat Beat Manifesto's 1993 tour supporting their 1992 album ''Satyricon'' and would have been released in 1994 or 1995 if not for legal tangles with the band's Belgian label Play It Again Sam. Two singles were released from the album, a version of World Domination Enterprises' "Asbestos Lead Asbestos" and "Transmission". Meat Beat Manifesto, often shortened as Meat Beat, Manifesto or MBM, is an electronic music group originally consisting of Jack Dangers and Jonny Stephens that was formed in 1987 in Swindon, United Kingdom. Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine (also known as Carter USM or simply Carter) were an English indie rock band formed in 1987 by singer Jim "Jim Bob" Morrison and guitarist Les " Fruitbat" Carter. "I Can't Live Without My Radio" is the lead single from LL Cool J's debut album, '' Radio''. It was released in 1985 for Def Jam Recordings and was both written and produced by LL Cool J and Rick Rubin. It is a love song to the boombox. The song reached No. 15 on the ''Billboard'' R&B singles chart. "I Can't Live Without My Radio" was released with the follow-up single " I Can Give You More". Rockabilly
Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music. It dates back to the early 1950s in the United States, especially the South.
