Wisconsin Senate, District 3
The 3rd Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within central Milwaukee County. It comprises much of the city of Milwaukee's near-south side, as well as the village of West Milwaukee and eastern parts of the cities of West Allis and Greenfield. The district contains landmarks such as American Family Field (home of the Milwaukee Brewers), Walker's Point Historic District, the Mitchell Park Domes, and the historic Forest Home Cemetery. Current elected officials Tim Carpenter is the senator representing the 3rd district. He was first elected in the 2002 general election, and is now serving his fifth term. La Pointe County, Wisconsin
La Pointe County was created on February 19, 1845, by the Territory of Wisconsin from the northern portion of the existing territorial St. Croix County, encompassing the remaining portions of the Northwest Territory in Wisconsin Territory north of the line drawn from the confluence of the Ripple River with the Mississippi River (today, near Aitkin, Minnesota) to the western edge of Lac Courte Oreilles, to the eastern edge of Lac Courte Oreilles, and to the western branch of the Montreal River. The county was named for the community of La Pointe, Wisconsin on Madeline Island, which was its county seat from 1858 until 1866. When Wisconsin achieved statehood on May 29, 1848, La Pointe County was divided between the present day Minnesota and Wisconsin. Chippewa County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is named for the historic Chippewa people, also known as the Ojibwe, who long controlled this territory. As of the 2020 census, the population was 66,297. Its county seat is Chippewa Falls. The county was founded in 1845 from Crawford County, then in the Wisconsin Territory, and organized in 1853. Crawford County is a county in the southwest part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,113. Its county seat is Prairie du Chien. History Along with Brown County, Crawford County is one of Wisconsin's original counties, established by the Michigan Territorial legislature in 1818, and named after William H. Gwen Moore
Gwendolynne Sophia Moore (born April 18, 1951) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2005. In 2016, Moore was elected to serve as caucus whip of the Congressional Black Caucus for the 115th United States Congress. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Wisconsin's 4th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 4th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin, encompassing a part of Milwaukee County and including almost all of the city of Milwaukee (except the slivers of the city in Waukesha and Washington counties), as well as its working-class suburbs of Cudahy, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, and West Milwaukee. Recent redistricting has added the Milwaukee County North Shore communities of Glendale, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, Bayside, and Brown Deer to the district. Marisabel Cabrera (born December 12, 1975) is an American lawyer and politician from the state of Wisconsin. She serves in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the south side of Milwaukee.
