USA Table Tennis, colloquially known as USATT, is the non-profit governing body for table tennis in the United States and is responsible for cataloging and sanctioning table tennis tournaments within the country. It was founded in 1933 as the United States Table Tennis Association. USATT has over 14,000 members. The headquarters of USA Table Tennis is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States, which is also home to the United States Olympic Training Center. USA Table Tennis offers a $100,000 incentive for American Olympic table tennis athletes, though no American athlete has ever won a medal for table tennis. Table tennis in the United States is regulated by USA Table Tennis. USATT Historian Tim Boggan has written a volume of books entitled “History of U.S. Table Tennis” to give the readers a brief overview of how the sport of table tennis came to be. There are a total of 19 books in the series. Table tennis was initially considered an alternative to lawn tennis at parties and events. However, the rapid rise in popularity of table tennis reached worldwide and caught attention in the United States. Amy Wang
Amy Wang (born December 2, 2002) is an American table tennis player who competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Early life and education Wang started playing table tennis at age four, and is coached by her father, Xiaota. Her two older brothers, Allen and Eddie, are both table tennis players. Raised in Sewell, New Jersey, Wang attended Washington Township High School. Wang attends the University of California, Los Angeles where she is majoring in neuroscience with a minor in accounting. Career Wang made her international debut for the United States at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. She made her first U.S. national team at 12 years old. He is a three-time Olympian (2016, 2020, and 2024), and was the US national champion five times, winning the national title between 2016 and 2019 for a record four straight national titles and adding a fifth title in 2024 on his way to the Olympics in Paris. Mo Zhang ( zh, 張墨; born 17 January 1989) is a female Chinese-born table tennis player who now represents Canada. She was born in Shijiazhuang, and currently resides in Vancouver. Career She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, reaching the third round of the singles competition. With her win at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, she qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
