Thomas Scrubb
Thomas Ryan Scrubb (born September 26, 1991 in Richmond, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Monbus Obradoiro of the Spanish Liga ACB. He played university basketball for the Carleton Ravens. University career After playing at Vancouver College high school, Scrubb enrolled at Carleton University in 2009, and sat out the 2009–10 season. Playing alongside his brother Philip Scrubb, he won five straight CIS National Championships with the Ravens. He took home the CIS Defensive Player of the Year distinction in 2014 and 2015, while also earning All-CIS First Team honours in 2015. In 2013, Scrubb was presented with the Jack Donohue Trophy, being the Most Valuable Player of the CIS Championship. He was also a three-time CIS Tournament All-Star Team selection (2013, 2014, 2015). Carleton Ravens
The Carleton Ravens are the athletic teams that represent Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. The most notable sports team for Carleton is the men's basketball team. In men's basketball, the Ravens have won 16 of the last 19 national men's championships, which is more than any top division college in Canada or the United States. The Ravens went on an 87-game winning streak from 2003 to 2006. They also had a 54-game home winning streak. The Ravens finished 2nd in the World University Basketball Championships in 2004. 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament – Manila
The 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila was one of three 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments for Men. The tournament was held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines, from 5 to 10 July 2016. The national teams of , , , , , and hosts were drawn into the tournament. The winner qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Teams Venue The Mall of Asia Arena was chosen as the main venue for the tournament. JL Bourg
Jeunesse Laïque de Bourg-en-Bresse, commonly known as JL Bourg or simply Bourg, is a basketball club based in Bourg-en-Bresse, France that plays in the Pro A. Their home arena is Ekinox, which has a capacity of 3,548 people. History In 2014, JL Bourg adopted its new home arena Ekinox which replaced the Salle des Sports. This year the team also promoted to the Pro A after it won the Pro B Playoffs. They relegated back after the 2014–15 season. Canadian Elite Basketball League
The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) is a men's professional minor league basketball organization. The CEBL was founded in 2017 and began play in 2019 with six teams competing all owned and operated by ownership group Canadian Basketball Ventures. The league currently consists of ten teams from six different provinces, with four being from Ontario, two from Alberta and one each from the provinces of British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Quebec, making the CEBL the largest professional sports league based entirely in Canada. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) ( English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. EuroBasket, also commonly referred to as the European Basketball Championship, is the main international basketball competition that is contested quadrennially, by the senior men's national teams that are governed by FIBA Europe, which is the European zone within the International Basketball Federation. The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor.
