Tamara Neilson, known professionally as Tami Neilson, is a Canadian-born New Zealand country & soul singer/songwriter. She is the winner of multiple awards, including the 2014 APRA Silver Scroll Awards and Best Country Song Award; she is also the winner of the Best Country Album at the New Zealand Music Awards in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2015, and Best Female Artist at the New Zealand Country Music Awards in 2010, 2011 & 2014. Tønder Festival
Tønder Festival is an annual folk music festival in Tønder, Denmark. It is held on the last weekend of August. It was founded in 1974. The first festival took place in 1975. The festival is one of the most prominent festivals for traditional and modern folk music in Europe. Around 2500 volunteers helps create the festival every year. The program is composed of international artists from especially Ireland, Scotland, Canada, United States, England & Scandinavia. The genres vary from Irish and Scottish folk music to Nordic Folk Music, Americana, Country and world. ''Chickaboom!'' is the seventh studio album by Canadian-New Zealand Country music, country singer Tami Neilson, released on 14 February 2020, by Neilson Records and Outside Music. A country album inspired by rockabilly, ''Chickaboom!'' was nominated for the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and Aotearoa Music Award for Album of the Year at the 2020 Aotearoa Music Awards. The album debuted at number eight on the Official New Zealand Music Chart. Production Neilson was inspired by a rockabilly and Country music, country sound for the album, reminiscent of Johnny Cash and Wanda Jackson. ''Sassafrass!'' is the sixth studio album by Canadian-New Zealand country singer Tami Neilson, released in June 2018. Production The album was inspired by Neilson's experiences of becoming a mother, losing her father and turning 40. She felt that the album expressed her "coming into confidence as a woman" and is a celebration of her newly-found freedom. Because of this, many of the songs on the album focused on gender equality. Sonically, Neilson was inspired by musicians including Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Big Mama Thornton and Mavis Staples. The song "Miss Jones" was written as a tribute to Sharon Jones. The album's title, ''Sassafrass!'', is a slang term referring to a self-assured person. ''The Brokenwood Mysteries'' is a New Zealand television detective drama series that premiered on Prime in 2014. Each of the first six series comprises four distinct episodes.
