Comedy
Comedy is a genre of dramatic works intended to be humorous or amusing by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, film, stand-up comedy, television, radio, books, or any other entertainment medium. Origins Comedy originated in ancient Greece: in Athenian democracy, the public opinion of voters was influenced by political satire performed by comic poets in Ancient Greek theatre, theaters. The theatrical genre of Greek comedy can be described as a dramatic performance pitting two groups, ages, genders, or societies against each other in an amusing ''agon'' or conflict. Northrop Frye depicted these two opposing sides as a "Society of Youth" and a "Society of the Old". Calico Cat
A calico cat is a domestic cat of any breed with a tri-color coat. The calico cat is most commonly thought of as being 25% to 75% white with large orange and black patches; however, they may have other colors in their patterns. Calico cats are almost exclusively female except under rare genetic conditions. A calico cat is not to be confused with a tortoiseshell, that has a black undercoat and a mostly mottled coat of black/red or blue/cream with relatively few to no white markings. However, outside of North America, the calico pattern is more commonly called ''tortoiseshell and white''. Such cats with diluted coloration (blue tortoiseshell and white) have been called ''calimanco'' or ''clouded tiger''. Occasionally, the tri-color calico coloration is combined with a tabby patterning, called ''tortoiseshell tabby with white.'' A calico-patched tabby cat may be referred to as ''caliby''. Derived from a colorful printed calico fabric, when the term "calico" is applied to cats, ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Corgi
The Welsh Corgi ( or Corgi, plural Corgis, or occasionally the etymologically consistent Corgwn; ) is a small Dog type, type of herding dog that originated in Wales. The name ''corgi'' is thought to be derived from the Welsh language, Welsh words and (which is Consonant mutation, mutated to ), meaning "dwarf" and "dog", respectively. Two separate breeds are recognised: the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Physical differences are seen between the two breeds. According to the breed standards, overall the Cardigan is larger, both in weight and height, and has a much longer tail than the Pembroke. Historically, the Pembroke has been attributed to the influx of dogs alongside Flemish people, Flemish weavers from around the 14th century, while the Cardigan is attributed to the dogs brought with Norsemen, Norse settlers, in particular a common ancestor of the Swedish Vallhund. The Pembroke is the more popular of the two, yet still appears on the Kennel Club's v ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
