Straw Hat (film)
''Straw Hat'' ( cs, Slaměný klobouk) is a 1971 Czechoslovak comedy film written by Miloš Macourek and Oldřich Lipský, and directed by Lipský as well. It stars Miloš Kopecký in the leading role. The film is based on the 1851 play '' The Italian Straw Hat'' by Eugène Labiche and Marc-Michel. Summary Fadinard is on the way to his wedding, when his horse picks up and eats a straw hat. The owner of the hat is a married woman who, at the time, is in the embrace of a French officer, Lieutenant Tavernier. The officer follows Fadinard to his home and demands that he replace the hat, so that his mistress can return home to her husband without arousing suspicion. Fearing that Tavernier will wreck his new apartment, Fadinard hastens to his wedding, using every opportunity he can to find a replacement hat. Oldřich Lipský
Oldřich Lipský (4 July 1924 – 19 October 1986) was a Czechs, Czech film director and screenwriter, brother of actor Lubomír Lipský. All his films were comedies, frequently employing themes of Dadaism, farce and magical realism. He was a frequent collaborator with actor Miloš Kopecký, who appeared in most of his works. Barrandov Studios is a set of film studios in Prague, Czech Republic. It is the largest film studio in the country and one of the largest in Europe. Pavel Landovský
Pavel Landovský (11 September 1936 – 10 October 2014), nicknamed Lanďák, was a Czech actor, playwright, and director. He was a prominent dissident under the communist regime of former Czechoslovakia. Biography Landovský was born in Havlíčkův Brod in 1936, and after finishing his studies at the secondary technical school of mechanical engineering, he tried four times to enter the Faculty of Theatre in Prague, without success. He started his acting career as a supernumerary actor in the regional theatre in Teplice and continued to perform in regional theatres in Šumperk, Klatovy, and Pardubice. The first play that he wrote, ''Hodinový hoteliér'', premiered at the Činoherní klub theatre in Prague on 11 May 1969. In 1971, the communist regime banned him from film and television.
