Stefan Kretzschmar
Stefan Kretzschmar (; born 17 February 1973, in Leipzig) is a retired professional Germany, German team handball, handball player. The son of Peter Kretzschmar, a legendary handball player and coach in the former GDR (East Germany) and Waltraud Kretzschmar, a former handball player for the East German team and winner of Olympic team medals in silver (1976) and bronze (1980), he was a three-time Olympic athlete and winner of the Olympic silver medal with the German team in 2004. He is well known for his many tattoos and piercings. He ended his active career on 14 July 2007 and currently resides in Magdeburg, Germany, where he continues to hold a position with the local handball club, SC Magdeburg. His daughter Lucie-Marie Kretzschmar is a professional handball player too and member of the german national team. Waltraud Kretzschmar
Waltraud Kretzschmar ( Hermann then Czelake, 1 February 1948 in Kloster Lehnin – 7 February 2018) was an East German handball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics and in the 1980 Summer Olympics. In the 1970s, she was considered the best and most successful handball player in the world. In 1976 she won the silver medal with the East German team. She played three matches including the final and scored eight goals. Four years later she won the bronze medal as a member of the East German. She played one match and scored one goal. Kretzschmar married her coach, Peter Kretzschmar, in 1972. They lived in Schöneiche near Berlin. The Sportvereinigung Dynamo () (''Dynamo Sports Association'') was the sport association of the security agencies (Volkspolizei, Ministry for State Security, fire department and customs) of former East Germany. The association was founded on 27 March 1953 and was headquartered in Hohenschönhausen in East Berlin. From the date of its inception, the permanent president of SV Dynamo was the Minister of State Security Erich Mielke. The Minister of State Security served as First chairman of the association, while the Minister of the Interior served as the Second chairman of the association. The financial and material resources of the SV Dynamo were almost exclusively provided by the Ministry of State Security. Erich Mielke was dismissed as First chairman in December 1989.
