Krasnoyarsk Railway (russian: link=no, Красноярская железная дорога) is a subsidiary of the Russian Railways headquartered in Krasnoyarsk and serving the south of Siberia. Main information Its mainline is a link in the Trans-Siberian Railway crossing the Krasnoyarsk Krai and Khakassia. It is wedged between the West Siberian Railway (to the west) and East Siberian Railway (to the east). Its length is estimated at 3157,9 km (as of 2009). Krasnoyarsk-Passazhirsky (russian: Красноярск-Пассажирский,lit. Krasnoyarsk-Passenger) is the main railway station of Krasnoyarsk in Russia. It is located from Moscow. History The first train arrived to Krasnoyarsk on 6 December 1895 at two o'clock. The first building of the railway station was built in 1895 by the architect Nikolai Solovyov. Achinsk
Achinsk (russian: А́чинск) is a city in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, located on the right bank of the Chulym River near its intersection with the Trans-Siberian Railway, west of Krasnoyarsk. It has a population of 109,155 as of the 2010 Census. History Achinsk is one of the oldest known inhabited places in the area. Paleontological study has shown that people lived here as early as 28,000–20,000 BCE. Some of these ancient caves are located east of the city. The modern city, however, was founded on July 25, 1641 as an '' ostrog'' on the Bely Iyus River. After the fire of 1683, it was moved to the Chulym River (a tributary of the Ob); hence, the official foundation date of the city is considered to be July 25, 1683. Kyzyl (; Tuvan and russian: Кызыл; , ) is the capital city of the republic of Tuva, Russia. The name of the city means "red" or "crimson" in Tuvan (and in many other Turkic languages). Uyar (russian: Уяр) is a town and the administrative center of Uyarsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, located on the Uyarka River (Yenisei's basin) east of Krasnoyarsk. Lesosibirsk (russian: Лесосиби́рск) is a town in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, located on the Yenisei River. Population: . History The village of Maklakov Lug (russian: Маклаков Луг), later known as Maklakovo () existed on the territory of modern Lesosibirsk since 1640. In the early 20th century, Norwegian industrialist Jonas Lied established a wood processing plant here. The plant was nationalized after the revolution. After World War II, large wood-processing plants were built here. The Achinsk–Maklakovo railway connected the area with the Siberian Railway. Abaza (town)
Abaza (Russian & Khakas: Абаза, ''Abaza'') is a town in the Republic of Khakassia, Russia, located on the Abakan River south of Abakan. Population: History It was founded in 1856 and developed on the strength of iron ore deposits; the extraction industry is still important to the local economy. The metallurgical plant was in operation until 1926. The settlement serving the plant was known as Abaza, an abbreviation of Abakan and Zavod (plant). The extraction work of iron ore is carried out at a mine 5 km from the city. Iron ore is sent to Novokuznetsk metallurgical enterprises.
