''Le deportate della sezione speciale SS'' (internationally released as ''Deported Women of the SS Special Section'', ''SS Special Section Women'' and ''Deported Women'') is a 1976 Italian erotic-drama film directed by Rino Di Silvestro. The film is considered the first Italian Nazi exploitation film, after the "auteur" progenitors such as Liliana Cavani's art film '' Il portiere di notte'' and Tinto Brass' exploitation film ''Salon Kitty''. Plot In Nazi Germany, a group of female prisoners are transported by train to an SS concentration camp and subjected to torture by the camp commandant (John Steiner) and his guards which include a lesbian warden. Rino Di Silvestro
Salvatore Di Silvestro, best known as Rino Di Silvestro (30 January 1932 - 3 October 2009) was an Italian director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Di Silvestro became first known thanks to ''Op bop pop nip'', a piece he wrote, directed and starred, which was continuously represented at the Teatro delle Muse in Rome from 1962 to 1966. After having collaborated uncredited to the screenplays of a number of genre films, in 1973 he made his debut as director with ''Women in Cell Block 7'', a film which his regarded as the first Italian women in prison film. Nazi exploitation (also Nazisploitation) is a subgenre of exploitation film and sexploitation film that involves Nazis committing sex crimes, often as camp or prison overseers during World War II. Most follow the women in prison formula, only relocated to a concentration camp, extermination camp, or Nazi brothel, and with an added emphasis on sadism, gore, and degradation. The most infamous and influential title (which set the standards of the genre) is a Canadian production, ''Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS'' (1974). Its surprise success and that of ''Salon Kitty'' and ''The Night Porter'' led European filmmakers, mostly in Italy, to produce similar films, with just over a dozen being released over the next few years. Rik Battaglia
Rik Battaglia (byname of Caterino Bertaglia; 18 February 1927 – 27 March 2015) was an Italian film actor. He was born at Corbola, near Rovigo, Veneto. He mainly used the stage name of Rik Battaglia although alternate names he used for his films included Rick Austin, Riccardo Battaglia and Rick Battaglia. He would go on to appear in over 100 films from the 1955 to 1999. Biography He went to sea at the age of 17 and worked on a freighter. Solvi Stubing (19 January 1941 – 3 July 2017) was a German actress and TV personality, mainly active in Italy. Born in Berlin, Stubing obtained wide popularity in Italy with a commercial for Peroni Beer, and starred in many films, often of modest value, in several genres of Italian cinema. For many years, between the 1980s and the 1990s, she hosted a number of television programs about cinema. Stubing died on 3 July 2017 in Rome, age 76.
