Diepholz (district)
Diepholz () is a district in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the northeast and clockwise) the districts of Verden, Nienburg, Minden-Lübbecke (in North Rhine-Westphalia), Osnabrück, Vechta and Oldenburg, and by the cities of Delmenhorst and Bremen. The most populous municipality is Stuhr at the border to Bremen. History From the 12th century to 1585 Diepholz was a sovereign Noble Lordship, later County, within the Holy Roman Empire that was ruled over by the Noble Lords, later Counts, of Diepholz. At the beginning of the 16th century there was great pressure from the powerful duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg, which tried to annex the smaller states. By forming an alliance with the neighbouring County of Hoya and asking for help from the emperor himself the state of Diepholz managed to survive some more decades. Rudi Carrell
Rudi Carrell (born Rudolf Wijbrand Kesselaar; 19 December 1934 – 7 July 2006) was a Dutch entertainer. Along with famous entertainers such as Johannes Heesters and Linda de Mol, he was one of the most successful Dutch personalities active in Germany. He worked as a television entertainer and hosted his own show; the ''Rudi Carrell Show'' ran first in the Netherlands, and then for many years in Germany. As a singer he had a number of hits, including a Dutch version of " A Windmill in Old Amsterdam", and acted in several movies. He also recorded several songs in German. ''Eurovision Song Contest'' Carrell represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 with the song " Wat een geluk" ("What luck"). He finished 12th out of 13, scoring just two points. Reinhold Beckmann
Reinhold Beckmann (born 23 February 1956) is a German journalist and television presenter. He was born in Twistringen, Lower Saxony. After school in Syke, he studied German, film and theatre in Cologne. In 1980, Beckmann began to work for broadcaster WDR, in programs such as ''Aktuelle Stunde''. As a sports journalist, he worked for Premiere from 1990 to 1992. He then joined Sat.1, again as a sportscaster (in programs such as ''ran'' and ''ranissimo''). From 1998, Beckmann worked for ARD, in programs such as ''Sportschau'' and, from 1999 to 2014, had his own talkshow ''Beckmann''. He retired on 6 May 2017. Beckmann and his family live in Hamburg. Saad El-Haddad (; born 26 November 1985), better known by his stage names Baba Saad or just Saad, is a German rapper of Lebanese descent. Early life Baba Saad was born in Beirut, Lebanon, but emigrated to Syke in northern Germany in 1994.
