Steve Warr
Steve Warr is a British television director and producer. He is currently a company director of Raw Cut TV. In the 1990s, Warr was the first producer to combine police video with observational documentary in the BBC docusoap ''X-Cars''. He was the executive producer and series producer of ITV's ''Police Camera Action!''. He produced Roger Cook’s current affairs series '' The Cook Report'' for four years at Central Television. He has also directed ITV's ''Tonight with Trevor McDonald''. ITV Network
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. ITV was for four decades a network of separate companies which provided regional television services and also shared programmes between each other to be shown on the entire network. Police Camera Action!
''Police Camera Action!'' is a police video programme made by Optomen Television, originally broadcast on ITV with repeats airing on ITV4. It was originally commissioned through Carlton Television. It was presented by Alastair Stewart from 1994 until 2002, until his second drink-driving conviction led to a temporary suspension, before he resumed his role with Adrian Simpson from 2007 until its cancellation three years later. In 2010, the final series of the programme was presented by Gethin Jones. History The first episode broadcast on 7 September 1994 was known as ''Police Stop!'', which was also the name of a similar police programme available initially on VHS video and later on Sky1. Roger Cook (journalist)
Roger Lou Belvedere Cook (born 6 April 1943) is a New Zealand-born British investigative journalist and television broadcaster. In 1997, he won a British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) special award "for 25 years of outstanding quality investigative reporting", for his show '' The Cook Report''. Early life Cook's parents were New Zealanders, but he was brought up in Australia, and began his career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a reporter and newsreader on both radio and television. The Cook Report
''The Cook Report'' was a British ITV current affairs television programme presented by Roger Cook which was broadcast from 22 July 1987 to 24 August 1999. The series featured the journalist investigating corruption, criminals, government social policy failures, and unmasking coverups due to incompetence, negligence and dishonesty. All sixteen series were produced for ITV by Central Television. The series was well known for Cook's reporting style where he would present those being investigated with the evidence that the show had collected; often this would result in the journalist being attacked and occasionally hurt by those he confronted. ''Tonight'' (often referred to as ''The Tonight Programme'') is a British current affairs programme, produced by ITV Studios (formerly Granada Television) and ITN for the ITV network, replacing the long-running investigative series ''World in Action'' in 1999. Road Wars (TV Series)
''Road Wars'' is a British police reality television programme created by Raw Cut TV for British Sky Broadcasting and broadcast on Sky1 from 2003 to 2010. From Series 1 the show was narrated by actor Lee Boardman. The 2nd half of series 7 was narrated by actress Claire Goose. As of 2023, the show has reruns on Sky One, Sky Replay, Pick, Sky Witness and Sky Crime. Format Road Wars followed the work of police officers, documenting the changing tactics of criminals and the response of the UK police forces. For six seasons the show followed officers in the Thames Valley, but moved to Devon and Cornwall for the last series in 2009. The programme also features some police videos both in the UK and US. Mancunian Lee Boardman narrated the show until the second half of series 7, employing a light-hearted and pun-intended approach. ''Street Wars'' (sometimes named ''Street Law'') is a police reality television programme produced by Raw Cut TV for British Sky Broadcasting and broadcast on Sky1. A spin-off of '' Road Wars'', Street Wars began in 2005 and followed the Tactical Team from Kent Police in Medway, Kent and the Tactical Support Group from the Police Service of Northern Ireland in Derry, Northern Ireland. The programme also followed Surrey Police for a short while around Guildford, Surrey. The footage from the two teams is combined with video footage from CCTV cameras and police forces from around the world. The series is narrated by Lee Boardman. Sky One was a British pay television channel operated and owned by Sky Group (a division of Comcast). Originally launched on 26 April 1982 as Satellite Television, it was Europe's first satellite and non-terrestrial channel. ''Police Interceptors'' is a British factual programme that profiles the work of elite police units from across the UK. There have to date been 21 series to fate following police units from Essex, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Durham and Cleveland, Cheshire and West Yorkshire. The current series follows the work of Nottinghamshire Police's Roads and Armed policing unit, as well as their dog unit. The documentary has been broadcast by Channel 5 since the first episode on 9 May 2008. The show is produced by the same producers of the former Sky series '' Road Wars''. Channel 5 is a British free-to-air public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast television channel launched in 1997.
