Sprinter (song)
"Sprinter" is a song by British rappers Dave and Central Cee. It was released on 1 June 2023 through Neighbourhood and Live Yours, and included on the collaborative and fifth overall EP ''Split Decision'', released four days later. It debuted at number one in the UK Singles Chart, becoming Dave's third number-one single and Central Cee's first. The single also became the longest-running number-one rap song in the UK, holding the position for 10 weeks. It also topped the charts in Australia, Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Switzerland. Background The song was first teased by Cee on his Instagram stories on 18 March 2023, revealing that Dave had just sent him an audio file. They were also spotted in the studio together on 10 May. David Orobosa Omoregie (born 5 June 1998), also known as Santan Dave, 50 Pence or just Dave, is a British rapper. He has gained acclaim for his socially conscious lyricism and wordplay. Drill is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in Chicago streets in the early 2010s. It is sonically similar to the trap music subgenre and lyrically similar to the gangsta rap subgenre. Drill music progressed into the American mainstream circa 2012 following the success of rappers like Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Lil Reese, Fredo Santana, G Herbo, Lil Bibby, and King Louie who had many local fans and a significant internet presence alongside producer Young Chop.
