Splatterheads
Splatterheads were an Australian punk rock band, which formed in 1987. They issued three albums, ''Ink of a Mad Man's Pen'' (1989), ''Bot, the Album'' (1993) and ''Joined at the Head'' (1996), before disbanding in 1996. They re-united in 2010 to perform and released a compilation album, ''Splatter Platter''. History Splatterheads were formed in 1987 as a punk rock band, Lompoc County Splatterheads, by Adrian Carroll on guitar, Simon "Sly" Faulkner ( Sly T-Bone) on guitar and vocals, Christo Fletcher ( Big Guy) on vocals and guitar, Micky Scott on drums and Peter "PT" Thompson on bass guitar. Fletcher, Scott and Thompson shared a house together in Surry Hills when they decided to start a band. They soon recruited Carroll and Faulkner. "Lompoc County" references Lompoc, California and its appearances in American cartoon TV series ''Roger Ramjet'', where the title character describes "local louts as a bunch of 'Splatter heads'." Lompoc ( ; Chumashan ) is a city in Santa Barbara County, California, United States. Located on the Central Coast, its population was 43,834 as of July 2021. Dog Meat Records
Dog Meat Records was a record label releasing music from bands in the Australian independent rock music scene in the 1990s. It released music from such artists as Hoss, The Philisteins, Powder Monkeys, Splatterheads and Blues Hangover, including some non-Australian musical acts. Dog Meat was a continuation of an earlier label, Grown Up Wrong!, which released records, including some by local Melbourne bands in the mid 1980s. Both of these labels were entirely creatively controlled by Dave Laing, from Melbourne. Also, both labels were named after songs, Grown Up Wrong after a Rolling Stones song, and Dog Meat after a Flamin' Groovies song. Roger Ramjet
''Roger Ramjet'' is a 1965–69 American animated television series, starring Roger Ramjet and the American Eagle Squadron. The show was known for its simple animation, frenetic pace, and frequent references to pop culture which appealed to adults as well as children. During its original run, the show aired on NBC. Plot Roger Ramjet is a patriotic and highly moral hero who is typically out to save the world with help from his Proton Energy Pills ("PEP"), which give him "the strength of twenty atom bombs for a period of twenty seconds". The world is invariably saved by defeating the various recurring criminals who populate the series. Ramjet encounters various nemeses during his missions, assigned by General G.I. Brassbottom. Waterfront Records
Waterfront Records was an Australian independent record label based in Sydney, that released recordings by Australian bands during the 1980s and 1990s. History Waterfront records was started in 1982 by Steven Stavrakis who, at the time, was an employee of another Independent record label, independent label Phantom Records. The first release for Waterfront was the ''Careless Talk Costs Lives'' Extended play, EP by JFK & The Cuban Crisis that was originally submitted to, but rejected by, the Phantom label. Stavrakis heard the recordings and when Phantom passed on it he decided to release it himself. Stavrakis was later joined by Chris Dunn who was instrumental in discovering a number of the acts that appeared on the Waterfront label. Over the next 15 years Waterfront put out over 170 releases. Punk Rock
Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. Bored (stylised as Bored!) were an Australian punk band formed in Geelong in 1987. The original line-up was Grant Gardner on bass guitar, Adrian Hann on keyboards, Justin Munday on drums, John Nolan on guitar (ex-Behind the Magnolia Curtain) and Dave Thomas on guitar and vocals (ex-Bodies, Slaughter House). In 1989 Gardner was replaced by Tim Hemensley (ex-Royal Flush, God). Both Hemensley and Nolan left in 1991 to form Powder Monkeys. Bored! released five studio albums by 1993 and disbanded later that year. Lagwagon is an American punk rock band originally from Goleta, California, just outside Santa Barbara, California, Santa Barbara. They formed in 1989, went on hiatus in 2000, and reunited several times over the years.
