San Marino was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "" (; ), composed by Francesco Sancisi, with lyrics by Nicola Della Valle, and performed by the pop-rock band Miodio. The Sammarinese participant broadcaster, San Marino RTV (SMRTV), internally selected its entry for the contest. This was the first-ever entry from San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest. SMRTV officially confirmed its debut in the contest in November 2007 after deliberation among its shareholders. Promotion of the entry relied heavily on the internet, with a music video being created and interviews from the band to the press being published in the lead up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino, commonly known as San Marino RTV (abbreviated SMRTV), is the public service broadcaster of San Marino. Elnur Hüseynov (born 3 March 1987), also known as Elnur Hussein, is an Azerbaijani singer. Miodio
Miodio () is a band that consists of three Italian and two Sammarinese members. They represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, performing the song Complice. This was the first time San Marino had entered the competition. They performed in the 5th position after Moldova and before Belgium. They however failed to get past the first semi-final on 20 May, only receiving 5 points and placing last of 19. Miodio was founded in the winter of 2002, and they have published a mini-album with 5 tracks. This album was produced by the label "Acanto" owned by the producer and composer Andrea Felli.
