Ronnie Quintarelli
Ronnie Quintarelli (born 9 August 1979) is an Italian racecar driver, currently competing in Super GT. A four-time champion, he holds the all-time record for the most drivers' championship titles won in the GT500 class of Super GT. Biography Quintarelli first encountered motorsports at age 6 when his father gave him a small go-kart. After starting his karting career in 1990, he scored two second place finishes in the World Formula Super A championship and a European Formula C title. He made his single seaters debut in 2000 when he entered the Italian Formula Renault Championship and ended up third with Prema Powerteam. He also entered the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, the German Formula Three Championship and the Formula Volkswagen Germany. The 2008 Formula Nippon Championship was the thirty-sixth season of the premier Japanese open-wheel motor racing series. The series for Formula Nippon racing cars was contested over eight rounds. All teams were required to use Lola chassis ( Lola FN06) and have the choice between utilising Mugen Honda ( Mugen HF386E) or Toyota ( Toyota RV8J) engines. Hayanari Shimoda (下田隼成; Shimoda Hayanari) (born July 16, 1984) is a Japanese race car driver, born in Tokyo. His career started in 1997 in karting, Shimoda moving up to Italian Formula Renault in 2001. Happy to travel the world to further his career, he raced part of the 2002 Japanese GT Series and fill-in races in both Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup and British Formula Renault. A full season in Formula Renault V6 Eurocup followed in 2003, as well as a part season in the World Sportscar Championship and one race in the American Le Mans Series. The Formula Volkswagen Germany was a short-lived single-seater category in Germany between 2001 and 2003. History The Formula Volkswagen was launched in 2000 as the new Formula Vee by Volkswagen Motorsport. Reynard Motorsports constructed the chassis while the engine was derived from the Volkswagen Formula 3 engine. The initial race was run at the Salzburgring on June 10, 2001. The race was won by Belgian youngster Philip Cloostermans. Cloostermans finished second in the standings of the first season, behind Walter Lechner Jr..
