Right Bloc (Russia)
The Third Alternative. Right Bloc (PB; russian: Третья альтернатива. Правый блок; ПБ; ) — an all-Russian democratic movement uniting people of right-wing and nationalist convictions, based on the ideas of national democracy. It was formed in February 2018. On July 15, 2019, on the basis of the Right Bloc movement, the formation of the All-Russian political party "Third Alternative" began. Creation, structure The reason for the emergence was repression against the right-wing organizations or their collapse, with the aim of uniting disparate organizations into a single movement, for the participation of the right-wing in legal politics. 2019 Moscow Protests
Starting from July 2019 numerous approved and unapproved rallies in Moscow (also known as part of the political crisis) began, caused by the situation with the 2019 Moscow City Duma elections. Widespread public protests were triggered by numerous authorities' violations, claimed by the independent opposition candidates, during the registration procedure. Rallies on Sakharov Avenue on 20 July and 10 August 2019 became the largest political rallies in Russia since the 2011–2013 protests. The July 27 rally established a record on number of detainees: 1373 people were detained. The subsequent appeals of the MCEC's decisions to the CEC by the independent candidates didn't lead to any results. The 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt, also known as the August Coup,, "August Putsch". was a failed attempt by hardliners of the Soviet Union's Communist Party to forcibly seize control of the country from Mikhail Gorbachev, who was Soviet President and General Secretary of the Communist Party at the time. The coup leaders consisted of top military and civilian officials, including Vice President Gennady Yanayev, who together formed the State Committee on the State of Emergency (GKChP). They opposed Gorbachev's reform program, were angry at the loss of control over Eastern European states and fearful of the USSR's New Union Treaty which was on the verge of being signed. Lev Aleksandrovich Ponomaryov (russian: Лев Алекса́ндрович Пономарёв, September 2, 1941) is a Russian political and civil activist. He is an executive director of the all-Russian movement "For Human Rights." He is a member of the Federal Political Council of Solidarnost, and was deputy to the State Duma in its first period. Academician Sakharov Avenue (russian: Проспект Академика Сахарова, ''Prospekt Akademika Sakharova'') is a street in the center of Moscow, in Krasnoselsky District. In the south, the street is limited by Turgenevskaya Square and the Boulevard Ring. Assassination Of Boris Nemtsov
The assassination of Boris Nemtsov, a Russian politician opposed to the government of Vladimir Putin, occurred in central Moscow on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge at 23:31 local time on 27 February 2015. An unknown assailant fired seven or eight shots from a Makarov pistol. Four of them hit Boris Nemtsov in the head, heart, liver and stomach, killing him almost instantly.
