The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) is a List of German transport associations, transport association that covers the Public transport, public transport network of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main, Frankfurt Rhine-Main area in Germany. Its head office is located in Hofheim, Hesse, Hofheim im Taunus. Organisation and area covered The RMV is a transportation association operated by 15 counties, 11 independent cities and the States of Germany, Bundesland of Hesse. It was founded 25 May 1995, as the successor of the ''Frankfurter Verkehrsverbund'' (FVV), which was incorporated into the RMV. It is responsible for planning, organising and financing of regional transport, alongside the local transportation organisations. This way, there is a clear distinction between the RMV "ordering" public transport and transport companies carrying it out. This is a list of regional rail services operated in Hesse. Rail services in southern Hesse are focussed on the city of Frankfurt and are organised by the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund ("Rhine-Main Transport Association"), while rail services in northern Hesse are focussed on the city of Kassel and are organised by the Nordhessischer Verkehrsverbund ("North Hesse Transport Association"). The Mainz tramway network () is a network of tramways forming part of the public transport system in Mainz, the capital city of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Opened in 1883, the network has been operated since 2001 by the (MVG), and is integrated in the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV). Hofheim (; officially known as Hofheim am Taunus) is the administrative centre of Main-Taunus-Kreis district, in the south of the German state of Hesse. Its population in September 2020 was 39,946. Rhine-Main S-Bahn
The Rhine-Main S-Bahn system is an integrated rapid transit and commuter rail, commuter train system for the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region, which includes the cities Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Offenbach am Main, Hanau and Darmstadt. The network comprises nine S-Bahn lines, eight of which currently travel through the cornerstone of the system, a tunnel (the "Frankfurt City Tunnel, City Tunnel") through central Frankfurt.
