Recognised for her sense of style, her musicality, and as a remarkable singer-actress, Scotto is considered to have been one of the preeminent opera singers of her generation. Renata Adler (born October 19, 1937) is an American author, journalist, and film critic. Adler was a staff writer-reporter for ''The New Yorker'' for over thirty years and the chief film critic for ''The New York Times'' from 1968 to 1969. She has also published several fiction and non-fiction books, and has been awarded the O. Henry Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the PEN/Hemingway Award. Early life Adler was born in Milan, Italy, to Frederick L. and Erna Adler while they were traveling from Germany to the United States. She has two older brothers. Cecilia Renata of Austria (, , ; 16 July 1611 – 24 March 1644) was Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania as the wife of King-Grand Duke Władysław IV Vasa. Selection and coronation Cecilia Renata was a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II, of the House of Habsburg, and Maria Anna of Bavaria. Born in 1611 in Graz, she was chosen as a bride by the Polish-Lithuanian nobility. She married Władysław on 9 August in Vienna by proxy, and then in Warsaw in person on 12 September 1637, and the same day was crowned at St. John's Cathedral. Renata Fast (born October 6, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and member of Canada women's national ice hockey team. She played college ice hockey at Clarkson and won the 2014 National Collegiate women's ice hockey championship title. Renata Leonardo Pereira Sochaczewski (born 21 February 1947), known professionally as Renata Sorrah, is a Brazilian actress. She is best known for portraying Nazaré Tedesco in '' Senhora do Destino'' (2004). Early life Sorrah was born in Rio de Janeiro, to Míriam Leonardo Pereira, who is of Portuguese ancestry and Peter Sochaczewski, a Polish immigrant. Renata Elizaveta Kallosh (; ; born 1943) is a Russian-American theoretical physicist. She is a professor of physics at Stanford University, working there on supergravity, string theory and inflationary cosmology. Biography Kallosh was born in 1943 in Chernivtsi.
