''RPG Maker'' is the first PlayStation version of the RPG Maker series and the overall third installment on home consoles. It allows players with generally low game making experience to create their own 2D role-playing video games (RPGs), which they can share with other ''RPG Maker'' owners via a Memory Card. Anime Maker In order to allow players to create their own graphics and animations for RPG Maker, a second program (on the same disc as the RPG Maker) called ''Anime Maker'' is included, which creators could use to design graphics and import them into their role-playing games. RPG Maker, known in Japan as , is a series of programs for the development of role-playing video games (RPGs) with story-driven elements, created by the Japanese group ASCII, succeeded by Enterbrain. The Japanese name, ''Tsukūru'', is a pun mixing the Japanese word ''tsukuru'' (作る), means "make" or "create", with ''tsūru'' (ツール), the Japanese transcription of the English word "tool".
