Prashanth
Prashanth Thiagarajan (born 6 April 1973), known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor, businessman, playback singer and film producer known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. He has won a Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The son of actor-director Thiagarajan, Prashanth began his career at age 17 with the Tamil film '' Vaigasi Poranthachu'' (1990) and went on to feature in other films including Balu Mahendra's '' Vanna Vanna Pookkal'' (1992), R. K. Selvamani's '' Chembaruthi'' (1992) and Mani Ratnam's '' Thiruda Thiruda'' (1993). ''Saagasam'' () is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by Arun Raj Varma and written and presented by Thiagarajan. The film stars Prashanth and Amanda Rosario, while an ensemble cast including Sonu Sood, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Abeetha and M. S. Bhaskar portray supporting roles. Thiagarajan
Thiagarajan Sivanandam (born 21 June 1946) is an Indian actor, film director and film producer in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil, he has acted in several Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films. He is the father of Tamil actor Prashanth, son-in-law of actor-director Peketi Sivaram and the maternal uncle of Tamil actor Vikram. Career Originally a businessman, Thiagarajan made his acting debut with '' Alaigal Oivathillai'' (1981), appearing as the elder brother of the film's lead actress Radha.
