Principally owned by Li Shufu's PSD Investment, Geely Holding and Volvo Cars, the company is headquartered in Torslanda, outside Gothenburg, Sweden. With an "asset-light" approach in development and manufacturing, Polestar does not have its own manufacturing facility, instead it produces cars in facilities controlled by Volvo or Geely in several countries, including China, the United States, and South Korea. The brand originated from Flash Engineering, a Swedish motorsport team established in 1996 that competed in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Volvo S60
The Volvo S60 is a compact executive car manufactured and marketed by Volvo since 2000. The first generation (2000–2009) was launched in autumn of 2000 in order to replace the S70 and was based on the P2 platform, and the similarly designed estate version, the Volvo V70. A high-performance engine and sports-oriented suspension version called S60 R was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2002. Styling cues were taken from the ECC concept car and the S80. The second generation (2010–2018) was released in 2010 for the 2011 model year and has its own estate version, known as the Volvo V60. The third generation joined the Volvo line-up in 2018 for the 2019 model year. Cyan Racing is the official motorsport partner to Geely Group Motorsport, formerly the Volvo factory auto racing team, and runs the FIA WTCR programme for Lynk & Co, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The team’s current drivers are Thed Björk, Yvan Muller, Yann Ehrlacher, Santiago Urrutia and Ma Qing Hua who will drive the Lynk & Co 03 TCR race car. The SI6 (Short Inline 6) is a family of straight-six engines developed by Volvo and used by Land Rover and Volvo. History Volvo designed the SI6 ("short inline 6") straight-six automobile engine for use in 2007 models. An evolution of the company's long-used straight-five Volvo Modular engine, which itself is an evolution of the Volvo B6304 straight-six engine, the SI6 can be mounted transversely for front wheel drive or all wheel drive applications. Håkan Samuelsson (born 19 March 1951) is a Swedish businessman who is chairman of the executive board (CEO) of Volvo Cars Corporation AB from October 2012 to January 2022.
