Omar Dallah
Omar Kachong Dallah (12 August 1936 – 1997) was a Hong Kong international lawn and indoor bowler and field hockey international. Appearing as a member of Hong Kong's 1964 Olympics hockey team, he later became the national team's captain and then coach. As a men's fours bowler, he and his teammates won gold in the 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games, and 1980 Melbourne World Outdoor Championships. Biography Hockey Dallah represented Hong Kong in hockey at the 1962 Asian Games, the 1964 Summer Olympics, 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, and (as captain) in the 1966 Asian Games. He coached Hong Kong's national team, including for the 1970 Asian Games, 1970 and 1978 Asian Games, 1978 Asian Games, both in Bangkok. Wan Chai (Traditional Chinese characters, Chinese: 灣仔) is located in the western part of Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The Ammar Mosque and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre () or Wan Chai Mosque is a mosque and Islamic centre in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It is the third mosque built in Hong Kong. History First building The original building of this mosque can be traced back to the first Muslim cemetery in Hong Kong located at 7 Seymore Street where there were only five or six burials took place. By that time, the Ammar Mosque was just a small mosque built adjacent to the cemetery which was used primarily to offer funeral prayer. However, once the Muslim population increased, Muslims living nearby the mosque began to use it for daily prayers as well. The earliest grave can be traced back to the year of 1864. Hong Kong Stadium is the main sports venue of Hong Kong. Redeveloped from the original Government Stadium, it reopened as Hong Kong Stadium in March 1994. The Hong Kong International Bowls Classic is a highly prestigious event in the lawn bowls calendar. It began as a men's pairs competition in 1981, with a men's singles event added in 1983. In 2008, the program was expanded to include singles and pairs competitions for women.
