Northfields Depot
Northfields Depot is a London Underground depot in Northfields in the London Borough of Ealing. It is situated between Northfields and Boston Manor stations on the Piccadilly line. History Northfields Depot was built for the western extension of the Piccadilly line and opened on 4 July 1932. Construction of the depot required the existing Northfields station to be rebuilt nearer to South Ealing station. Northfields, London
Northfields is an area in Ealing, west London. It is centred on Northfield Avenue, a shopping street of mostly independent shops and restaurants. It lies partially in the Ealing W5 and partially in west Ealing's W13 postcode. It lies in the southwest corner of Ealing. From the 14th century this area was part of the manor of Coldhall, or West Ealing. Great and Little Northfields were two large fields in the late Middle Ages, lying in the extreme west of Ealing parish. By the mid-17th century, Northfields Road as it was first called, was constructed to connect Little Ealing (next to South Ealing) to the road to Uxbridge (the current Uxbridge Road running from Shepherds Bush to Uxbridge). London Underground 1973 Stock
The London Underground 1973 Stock is a type of rolling stock used on the Piccadilly line of the London Underground. It was introduced into service in 1975 with the extension of the line to Hatton Cross, followed by a further extension to Heathrow Central in 1977. A total of 86 six-car trains were built. The trains were built by Metro-Cammell between 1974 and 1977, and were refurbished by Bombardier Transportation between 1996 and 2001. They are some of the oldest trains running on the Underground, and in Britain as a whole, second only to the 1972 Stock running on the Bakerloo line. Northfields is a London Underground station in Northfields, London, Northfields, in the London Borough of Ealing. Boston Manor Tube Station
Boston Manor is a London Underground station at the boundary of the boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing. It is on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly line, between Osterley and Northfields stations. It is located in Travelcard Zone 4. The station is on a street-level bridge over the line on Boston Manor Road, serving the neighbourhood around Boston Manor House, north-west of Brentford, and southern parts of Hanwell. Opened in 1883 by the District Railway, it was reconstructed in 1932 to a Grade II-listed building. Designed by architect Charles Holden, the Art Deco styled structure features a tall tower which acts as a landmark of the area. The Piccadilly line is a Deep level underground, deep-level London Underground line running between the west and the north of London. It has two western branches which split at Acton Town tube station, Acton Town and serves 53 stations. Hounslow West is a London Underground station in locality of Hounslow West in Hounslow within the London Borough of Hounslow, West London. It is on the Heathrow branch of the Piccadilly line, between Hatton Cross and Hounslow Central stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 5.
