Natacha Merritt
Natacha Merritt (born 1977) is an American photographer, artist and biologist. Her 2000 book ''Digital Diaries'' was published by Taschen and was the first digital photography book ever published. She has been profiled in '' Rolling Stone''. Merritt has been called a cheap self-promoter, a ground-breaker, and the contemporary counterpart of Anaïs Nin. She cataloged her sexual history on the internet through explicit photographs and drew the attention of photographer Eric Kroll, leading to the release of her photos as ''Digital Diaries''. Merritt was a guest speaker at the Ars Electronica Festival in Austria and in Melbourne at the AGIdeas 2002 conference. In 2003 she was one of the creators of ''Zumanity'' for Cirque du Soleil. In 2008 she sold the rights for an Insect Circus to Cirque du Soleil. The show became ''Ovo''. Zumanity
''Zumanity'' (zoo-manity) was a resident cabaret-style show by Cirque du Soleil at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, placed into the theatre previously occupied by Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance (musical). The production was unveiled on September 20, 2003 (previews started on August 14, 2003) and had its last performance on March 14, 2020. It was announced on November 16, 2020 that the show would be closing permanently. Video design or projection design is a creative field of stagecraft. It is concerned with the creation and integration of film, motion graphics and live camera feed into the fields of theatre, opera, dance, fashion shows, concerts and other live events. Video design has only recently gained recognition as a separate creative field. Claude Cahun (, born Lucy Renee Mathilde Schwob; 25 October 1894 – 8 December 1954) was a French surrealist photographer, sculptor, and writer. Schwob adopted the pseudonym Claude Cahun in 1914. Cahun is best known as a writer and self-portraitist, who assumed a variety of performative personae. In her writing she consistently referred to herself as "elle" (she), and this article follows her practice; but she also said that her actual gender was fluid. Cynthia Morris Sherman (born January 19, 1954) is an American artist whose work consists primarily of photographic self-portraits, depicting herself in many different contexts and as various imagined characters. Her breakthrough work is often considered to be the collected ''Untitled Film Stills'', a series of 70 black-and-white photographs of herself evoking typical female roles in performance media (especially arthouse films and popular B-movies). In the 1980s, she used color film and large prints, and focused more on costume, lighting and facial expression. ''Ovo'' is a touring circus production by Cirque du Soleil that premiered in Montréal, Canada in 2009. ''Ovos creator and director, Deborah Colker, took inspiration from the world of insects. The idea for ''Ovo'' was not to be about the acts, nor dancing, nor insects, but about movement. The movement of life permeates the entire show, with creatures flying, leaping, bounding, and crawling.
