Muga River (Ethiopia)
The Muga is a river in Catalonia, Spain, that rises in the Alberes mountains of the eastern Pyrenees and enters the Mediterranean Sea at the Gulf of Roses. The river is long. Its source is below the summit of Montnegre, elevation . The river passes through the village of Pont de Molins and passes through the Boadella Reservoir, where the river is dammed. The Muga Valley was entrusted to the County of Empúries by Ramon Berenguer III after being in the County of Besalú. The local population suffered in both the Peninsular War and Spanish Civil War. Boadella Reservoir
Boadella reservoir ( ca, Pantà de Boadella) is a reservoir located on the Muga river, near Darnius, Catalonia, Spain. The dam is located at Darnius while the main water body is also within the boundaries of Sant Llorenç de la Muga, Terrades and Maçanet de Cabrenys. The County of Besalú ( ca, Comtat de Besalú, ; la, Comitatus Bisuldunensis) was one of the landlocked medieval Catalan counties near the Mediterranean coastline. Ramon Berenguer III ''the Great'' was the count of Barcelona, Girona, and Ausona from 1086 (jointly with Berenguer Ramon II and solely from 1097), Besalú from 1111, Cerdanya from 1117, and count of Provence in the Holy Roman Empire, from 1112, all until his death in Barcelona in 1131. The County of Empúries ( ca, Comtat d'Empúries, ), also known as the County of Ampurias ( es, Condado de Ampurias), was a medieval county centred on the town of Empúries and enclosing the Catalan region of Peralada.
