Mora Municipality (''Mora kommun'') is a municipality in Dalarna County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Mora. The present municipality was created in 1971, when four older municipal entities were amalgamated. Municipalities Of Sweden
The municipalities of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges kommuner) are its lower-level local government entities. There are 290 municipalities which are responsible for a large proportion of local services, including schools, emergency services and physical planning. The Left Party ( sv, Vänsterpartiet ; V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatizations and advocates increased public expenditure. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being opposed to the European Union, NATO, and Swedish entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and also supports anti-racism, feminism, and republicanism. It is placed on the left-wing of the political spectrum. Våmhus
Våmhus is a locality situated in Mora Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden with 857 inhabitants in 2010. It is situated by the Orsa Lake's northwest beach. Våmhus has a characteristic local dialect, ''Våmhusmål'', distinct from other Dalecarlian dialects. Due to the relatively isolated location of Våmhus the Våmhusmål is still in use to some extent among the local population, although like all Swedish dialects it is in a general decline. The area is also known for its handicraft tradition, including basketry and " hair jewelry"(jewelry made of human hair). Sollerön
Sollerön () is the largest island in Lake Siljan and a locality situated in Mora Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden. It had 901 inhabitants in 2010. History Sites The island is home to several notable archaeological and historical sites, including Dalarna's largest Viking-era grave fields, a historic church, restored 18th-19th century farmhouses, the Viking museum has now closed. Viking Graves In the northern part of Sollerön, there are two large grave fields from the end of the Viking Age: one major at Bengtsarvet-Häradsarvet-Rothagen and one smaller at Utanmyra. Large Viking age graves have also been found elsewhere in Dalarna, such as in Orsa and on Tunaslätten, but the Sollerön grave site is the largest known site of its kind in Dalarna.
