Mohammad Ali (judge)
Mohammad Ali is a Justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Ali was born on 15 December 1969. He has a bachelor's and master's in law from the University of Dhaka. Career Ali became a lawyer of the District Courts on 16 August 1994. Ali became a High Court Division lawyer on 7 March 1996. He became a lawyer of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on 20 March 2018. Ali was appointed an additional judge of the High Court Division on 31 May 2018. In August 2019, Ali and Justice Obaidul Hassan ordered the government to follow the warrant of the precedence in providing protocol. On 30 May 2020, Ali was made a permanent judge of the High Court Division by President Abdul Hamid. The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. The High Court Division exercises both original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters. The Rana Plaza collapse (also referred to as the Savar building collapse or the collapse of Rana Plaza) was a structural failure that occurred on 24 April 2013 in the Savar Upazila of Dhaka District, Bangladesh, where an eight-storey commercial building called Rana Plaza collapsed. The search for the dead ended on 13 May 2013 with a death toll of 1,134. Approximately 2,500 injured people were rescued from the building. It is considered the deadliest accidental structural failure in modern human history, the deadliest garment-factory disaster in history and the deadliest industrial accident in the history of Bangladesh. Crack Platoon
The Crack Platoon was a special commando team of the Mukti Bahini which was formed in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War. It was formed by young members of Mukti Bahini which carried out commando operations in Dhaka and its surroundings and led by Major Khaled Mosharraf. The commandos were mostly students and civilians, received guerrilla training later in the training camps for Mukti Bahini and then engaged in battle against Pakistan Army.
