Marytown, Wisconsin is an unincorporated community in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, in the town of Calumet. Marytown is located at the intersection of Fond du Lac County highways G and HH. Wisconsin Highway 149 ran north to south through the community before it was decommissioned in 2006. Holyland Marytown is in an area of eastern Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin known as " The Holyland", so called because of the large number of communities built around churches, including St. Anna, St. Peter, St. Cloud, Mount Calvary, Johnsburg, Calvary, Brothertown and Jericho. A recognizable feature in Marytown is St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, which is located at the peak of the largest hill in the area. Johnsburg, Wisconsin is an unincorporated community in the Town of Calumet in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. The community is located on County Roads Q and W, approximately east of Lake Winnebago, southeast of Pipe and northwest of Malone. Johnsburg is part of the Holyland region in northeastern Fond du Lac county. Church / history St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is a prominent building in Johnsburg. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as number 80000137. The congregation was founded by six families in 1841. When built in 1842, the church was the first in the approximately 100 miles (160 kilometers) between Milwaukee and Green Bay. Oakfield Tornado
The 1996 Oakfield tornado outbreak was a severe weather event that occurred on July 18, 1996 in Wisconsin, United States, primarily affecting the village of Oakfield. The outbreak produced 12 tornadoes, with the most significant being an F5 tornado which caused severe damage to the village and the surrounding areas. No deaths were associated with the outbreak, with 17 injuries in total. The most intense tornado of the outbreak initially touched down at 6:05p.m. CST (00:05UTC) 4 miles northwest of Oakfield, before rapidly intensifying to F5 strength just east of the village. Estimated wind speeds reached 265 mph (426 km/h) in the tornado's core as it carved a path approximately 20 miles (32 km) long. Destruction in Oakfield included leveling homes, sending vehicles airborne, bending steel rebar, and sweeping crop fields clean.
